Wow! ^^^^
Antonio Maurizi. Kind of like Magnanni.
Blah. Thanks guys.Seems like there was a flurry of these Antonio Maurizi shoes a few years ago. They're one of those mid-tier Italian brands, or off-brands, that build product for the likes of Nordstrom and other haberdashers. They make a big deal about being so-called "artisan" shoes, but I'm not convinced they are fully bench made. Having said that, they're OK-looking shoes, usually with antiqued finishes, but they're slowwwwww movers on the flip, probably because now they've filtered through to Nordstrom Rack etc. and are heavily discounted NIB. I think I might still have a couple pairs stashed away in storage for personal (a supposed future where I actually go back to work-work).
@WoolyLamb that Canaletto suit is one of those from a low-to-mid-tier place where people with limited budget go to buy an "Italian suit". There are tons of these: Mantova, Giorgio Cosani, Angelo Rossi, anything with two random Italian names ending in vowels. They are generally worthless in the resale market, though REDA cloth is nothing to be sniffed at. Having said that, I just sold a Studio Milano suit for fifty bucks (it was on the dollar rack), so there does exist a limited market for that kind of stuff, though to be honest, when it sold I was like, "really?" lol. I have to say, though, this one gave me a laugh . . .
