Prophetic thrift day. I typically listen to podcasts while in my car and was listening to the Founders podcast today about a biography on Ralph Lauren. Pretty interesting, I recommend it. Funny that everything I picked up today was RL.

PRL Bench Made English loafers (my size!). I think C&J made these for PRL, correct?

This makes me think back to when I found one of those bench made orl penny loafers in my size but never found the matching shoe and I scoured the place for probably 30+ minutes looking for it and even asked the GW workers to look for it in the back. It’s especially annoying to remember now that I’m on the hunt for some good penny loafers.

My thought too at first glance! What I’ve seen Casentino is way more pilled than that.

Sofie D'Hoore is very very nice, oversized flowy jawnz. My wife wears a lot of their pieces and I wish they'd make men's stuff

I checked their website and looks like they’ve got a men’s section … that is completely blank. Cool piece, construction stood out so I looked it up in store, seems like it has a decent following.

Nice haul. That's like a boiled down representation of a certain era of music.. like 1970-1979 ish.

I've long watched this thread and it seems to me that most of you guys must live in a sizable metro area because I live in the rural hinterlands and whether you're talking clothes or other item we never get that kind of stuff around here.

In terms of consistently finding high quality items it definitely helps to have access to wealthy areas with lots of stores. But lots of contributors to this thread go out thrifting pretty much every day and doing that will turn up good stuff wherever you are.

@tweedlover And I know for sure that some stores get their stock through truck deliveries rather than just donations. The smaller and more remote locations. Let’s not kid ourselves too. The lack of “good items” is always usually just competition. Someone beat you to those good items most likely.

It’s interesting because I think of a person like @impuntura who pulls consistently and great items. I highly doubt he’s going to pick up certain brands or certain things. Mediocre items are left. Decent and good items always grabbed.
