It’s a Teisco. Probably a refin. Lots of 60s guitars had mirrored pickguards. Guyatone, Teisco, Eko, Sorrento, etc.

yeah, for me it was the condition of the pickguard and pickup covers compared to the use on the knobs and neck that said it wasnt totally original... still very cool. Cleaned up circuitry and shielding isnt a bad thing for real world use. Nice projects you got going on btw.

Speaking of guitars. Here are some things I get into when I'm not thrifting.
Spoilered for the people who couldn’t care less.

I wanted a Jaguar version of Elvis Costello's walnut Jazzmaster. Similar versions exist but they usually cost well over $1000 and I didn't want to spend that much. I used some online software to make this thing.

wanted different pickguards than a normal Jag but I only had a regular Jag pickguard so I busted out the jeweler's saw.

I just have to wire the whole thing up now which is daunting as hell.

next two projects:
1. stripping, refinishing, refret, rewire, basically completely redoing this old Italian guitar

I'm also building a Vox Teardrop out of a couple cutting boards from Ikea.

Very cool! Is the Jag alder? And are you really going to bang in your own frets and level them? If so, kudos!

Seattle area bros: if you find some orphaned RLPL trousers at VV, hit me up. We have a suit to unite.

Damn dude. Good eye. It is indeed alder. And yeah, gonna do all the fretwork myself, assuming the 50+ year rosewood doesn't crumble apart as I pull the old frets. I have a friend who is a very good luthier and another friend who has been a guitar tech for Childish Gambino, Metric, Arcade Fire, The Hold Steady, etc. so I have good people to run to to fix my stuff if I **** up too badly.
