Hey guys, how do the slim fit denim from RRL compare to other slim cut denim? Like the Levi's 511, Gustin's slim, and the N&F weird guy? Thanks!

Hey forum. Got the RRL Marshall flight jacket coming. Anyone have any impressions/pics to share? I got at it such a great price from my SA I couldn't pass it up.

Sleeve lining is nylon. Body lining is fur. Great jacket. However, I had to return mine because the triangles were uneven. lol. and also the hand warmer pockets beside the hip pockets were too small.

In retrospect, this might have been a good idea. I have progressively sold off all of my bucklebacks. Many I really liked for the material and other aspects, but I simply decided the buckleback was not for me. I probably should have attempted to salvage the pants by removing the buckle back, but I assumed the cut of the pants was different as well.

Why not just get the yearly RRL selvedge officer chino if you don't like the buckle backs?

PS: I will happily accept anyone's scraps from RRL clothes for some of my clothing projects.

I do own the regular officer chinos. Over the years I ended up with bucklebacks as well. Some seasons they released various selvedge chinos that I collected. I loved the gunmetal grey pair from a few seasons ago where they swapped out the weakly attached buttons for posts. In the end, I just decided the Buckleback was too much like some weird male bustle. Just not for me.

+1. Trying to figure out if RRL slim fit would work as well, the measurement table I found showed for a tagged 31 the measurements for back rise is 15, can someone please confirm that? Thanks!

what's the "problem" with buckle back? I haven't owned any yet, but do want in the future, too gimmicky?

I just don't care for the aesthetic. Sometimes the placement can very as well. Higher it can interfere with the belt. Overall, I think many people have no problem with it so this is mostly a matter of personal preference.

i just measured 2 and got 13.25" and 14.5"

Thanks for measuring!

That's a pretty big range! In line with sizing inconsistencies I've heard with RRL I suppose. Can anyone comment on the rise of the Low Straight vs. Slim fit? From the measurements the Slim fit should sit higher on the waist, but I've heard the opposite in actual wear.

On the topic of rigid selvedge chinos, how often do they get released? I have a pair from last season and it's probably the best selvedge chino I've handled, just wish RRL had more than 1 color per season. Also, do they stretch over time? Mine started to fade from wear, but the waist is pretty much the same size from new.

Thanks,

i prefer low straight. but i dont know if those measurements are inconsistencies. the size may be different depending on the model and season. plus typical manufacturing tolerances for jeans are probably at least .5" and everyone measures differently.

Thanks for clarifying, makes sense. I was hoping the Slim would have a higher rise than Low Straight, I need a back rise ~15 inches.

Not sure if mentioned on the thread already, just heard from the Georgetown RL store that they will no longer be stocking RRL starting 2015 spring reason. Guess it's back to trying things on via Fedex/USPS.
