retro achilles are wider than standard models, bballs used to be wider. They still are I guess but the length seems shorter so they kind of fit similarly now imo.

Has anybody got the transluscent sole achilles or bballs?
I was thinking about getting a pair but i'm unsure of how clear it is and how it would wear in.

Got myself a pair of 40 cp achilles. Im usually a us size 8.
hoping that breaking in will fix my problem. Left foot fits great right foot theres quite a bit of pain. I guess i have some sort of bunion on that foot near my little toe. Rip.
Probably coulda went 41 but maybe woulda been to sloppy

how much different do these fit after break in? Would it be worth it to go to a cobler to stretch the right shoe so my fat ass foot fits better ?

anyway the shoe is clean as hell i love it. Hoping i can wear them pain free soon.
Sounds as if you need the bigger size. FWIW, I don’t size down on the Achilles and I know a few others on this board don’t either. But that does not appear to be the consensus view.

****. You think someone would trade me their 41 for my 40? I bet a lot of people need to size down.

Interesting video cutting open the CP shoe.

This is kind of cool, but mostly its besides the point.
At this pstage I don't think people who spend $400+ on CPs do it because they think they are getting the best made sneaker. They do it because the style and silhouette is great. We know it's not "premium" in the way this guy seems to indicate.
If he also pulled apart some Greats or something and said they were 10 times "better" than Achilles, it still wouldn't make me want to buy Greats and it wouldn't make me desire CPs any less.

I get what you are saying but at $400+ I still think it's acceptable to expect the shoe to be made out of great or the best materials a 400 sneaker can get

Yeah maybe, i'm not really saying they aren't cheaping out on materials. I'm just saying I think this was already kind of known and not the reason people buy CPs.
There's not a really a "gotcha" moment here and its not going to make CP start doing things differently.

I get you. CP's still makes a good shoe, I would not pay for retail but on sale definitely worth it

I'm curious if this will impact sales and how the brand is perceived. What do you all think?

It likely wont have an effect large enough to be noticed by the company. But I wouldnt be surprised if it was shared heavily on reddit and deters people from that community.

I think his objections to some of the construction come from a place of misunderstanding. Using foam/compressed board inside a shoe is just standard practice for fashion sneaker construction and I wouldnt consider that a "quality" issue.

BUT I do think everyone should be unhappy about the upper quality. Honestly, we should expect more in material quality from most 'luxury' brands and I do think vegetable tannned leather looks much better after long term wear.

I'm no expert on CPs and have asked for advice too but I'm a US9 in Nikes and got the 41. Width wide are good but I still have a thumb width of the space (need to wear thicker socks now). I also have widish feet. So if you are an US8 then 41 might leave too much space imo. I wouldnt bank on them stretching too much width wise and I asked a cobbler once too, they said they couldn't help with stretching cause of design of shoes. Maybe bballs are better suited.

Definitely not for me, 7.5 in most Nike and Vans, and I sized down to a 39 in CPs. They are a little snug but I'm sure they will stretch out. Had a few leather sneakers that were tight at first.

Hi! Is the bball lows model 2155 fits the same size as the achilles? Im a 42 BTW on achilles. Appreciate the feedback. View attachment 1382690
The newer nubuck bballs are smaller than my achilles. I size down in achilles but had to go true to size in nubuck bballs. I'd try the same size as achilles in this 2155 model though. Nubuck bballs felt more narrow than achilles as well.
have been looking for these for AGES.........where'd you get them?
Navys are from fransboonestore. Got them recently with -50 % off. Black pair is older and from yoox. Unfortunately it seems like these are sold out now.
