I love the numbering but its hard to justify buying these. They can't be that much better than my greats or Koios.

I also have a question. Did the guys at common projects invent this totally mimalistic type canvas sneaker or just popularize it?

There are plenty of interviews with Flavio and Peter about it.
Prior to Common Projects there really wasn't much around though, and the 1000 other minimalist sneaker brands that exist today definitely took their lead from Common Projects.
If you wanted minimalist sneakers before CP you could find the occasional style here and there, and the big inspirations for the initial CPs were stans, AF1s, chucks, purcells etc so they were an option. But in terms of completely pared back design in high quality materials i'd argue that they definitely did invent it.

Nah. They didn't invent it. I started wearing CP's when they launched at Nom de Guerre back in the day. They didn't invite the style, but they did help popularize them due to the million brands that came out that bit CP's.

What was before them? I could be forgetting. Or just not know.
I mean “invented” is a loaded term for sure, but I can’t think of anything that was like them before. I remember a few designers would put out a kind of minimalist sneaker here and there but not an entire line of different styles and not seasonally.

That's what I thought as well. They deserve credit for popularizing it but I somehow doubt that silhouette didn't exist before.

Hey guys!
I heard this is a good place to ask for advice on legit checking CP sneakers. I recently copped an interesting pair of common projects “vans”, but I am doubtful because of its low price (around 190$) and because of the bold “made in Italy” text on the box. I can’t find any legit check article on the internet because the shoe style isn’t really that popular. Bought them in Ukraine in of the most reputable outlet shops in the country. (Elma Outlet, if that’s any help) I would really appreciate your help guys. Thanks in advance) if you guys need any other photos I’ll be sure to link them too
