Its no surprise that we are in the late stages of capitalism at this point. There's a saying that a fool and his money are soon parted. If the joys in your life revolve around such trivial notions as a fashion show, you might be a fool.

There are people being tortured and starving to death all around the world and as homeless populations grow there will be a tipping point and revolt similar to the French Revolution.

The poor far outnumber the rich more than 100,000 to 1

My cringe meter just exploded.

I too get the sense that Celine is selling. I've seen it in the wild a few times now which is always somewhat surprising and it seems to be ubiquitous on celebrities and just the regular-Joe fashion mags such as WSJ's/NYT style pieces always have Celine now (or Celine by Hedi Slimane depending on their mood). This is quite different from pre DK. Finally, Porter seems to be buying up a lot of Celine Homme as they call it. Ha.

I'm not so sure the menswear runway clothes are selling, especially considering the amount of cosmic cruiser promotional emails I receive. The dancing kid wasn't my style but still very commercial with the trainers and all the varsity jackets etc, but it's become less and less commercial since then. I'm sure the logo stuff, accessories and basic stuff is selling though.

Womenswear on the other hand is extremely commercial. Not sure how well it's selling though, as women have so many options that are pretty good even at the lowest price points. I notice a lot of women on Instagram mix a lot of cheap brands like pretty little thing with luxury trainers, shoes and accessories.

This for example is pretty much young girls uniform at the moment, and while the Celine version is very nice, but is it that different than the cheaper alternatives to pull women to spend their money on it.

I don't look at Mr Porter at all anymore because they generally don't stock any of the stuff I'm interested in. Not only that but the prices are always a bit too crazy for me. I often find myself comparing prices to Saint Laurent and realizing I have bought a Saint Laurent flannel, shirt and a Casablanca shirt all brand new for the price of just one Celine shirt and I close the tab again. Obviously a slightly unfair comparison considering sales but you get the point.

People on Vestiaire Collective sell pre-TDK Celine for good prices, often brand new with tags. A lot of good boots for low prices especially. Sellers are often based in the EU so it works for me.

How many subcultures are in this fit? Because it's at least three.

I liked some of the styling around the TDK release when Porter just got their stock in. It was slightly more true to the hedi boy look.

Now a bit of time has passed what's the opinions on Rimbaud? Some said it's like eau De californie which for me was very musky to the point that was all I could smell. It also sounds a little similar to Dior Homme 2005 which I already have a new 150 ml bottle of ready to go.

Also going to be selling a few Celine items including these trousers brand new with tags size 48 good price for style forum users

Also the jacno single monks in black calf, the white triomphe leather lows and the blanc canvas lows in white all brand new size 45.

Thought I'd just offer them here before ebay as prices will be good.

Also is the tiktok Celine look really gaining that much traction? I see far more young kids in the typical varsity jacket / streetwear flannel check shirt open with a t shirt, air force 1 / Jordan 1 / dunks type look with slim or skinny jeans. Girls in a mix from baggy to skinny. I do see student types in the baggy Celine style looks but it already feels like that cancelling skinny phase has passed.

I feel there is more of a rebellion away from skinny jeans more than them being cancelled. I still see many people wearing them and its a personal choice just like anything. I have 1 pair of skinny jeans and I never wear them I used to only wear skinny jeans. Now I mostly wear slim fit flares and I'm not apologizing for it.

how much does the calf leather biker stretch out

Calf skin can be easily stretched with a fine mist spray bottle of cold water, and then stretching by hand or putting the jacket on. Make sure to let it dry completely and to use a good quality leather conditioner a few days after. Don't completely drench the garment only enough to make it damp. This process is only good for cow leather.

To me, Rimbaud smells like baby powder with a hint of vanilla and old books.

That's an amazingly accurate description of Rimbaud, ha! I find myself drawn to other Celine fragrances more since they more obviously fit a certain mood, whether it's nightclubbing, black tie, or the casual eau de californie. That said, Rimbaud is an all-round easy-to-wear elegant fragrance.

Reptile and Nightlcubbing are still my favorites and wear them weekly. I wasn't much of a fan of Rimbaud when I smelt it. I'm mainly looking at the xerjoff with Tony Iommi collabs for my next purchase or Black Tie since I'm a fan of woody vanilla scents.

Cheers all. I'm going to wait until I get to a store to try it.

And ViceofGucci Black Tie is my favourite I can't get enough of it.

I'm looking to pick up another fragrance and am stuck between Black Tie & Reptile...I usually am not a fan of sweeter scents but Black Tie is awesome & very pretty. Rimbaud wasn't bad, it seems very 'dandy.'

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
