The hype comes from the quality of the leather used and the method of construction. Goodyear welts which are fairly common are priced less than a storm welt. Personally, I think a lot of the hype comes from the amazing silhouette of many of the boots and shoes, and I personally fell in love with the AA last the minute I saw it.

At some point in time I would love to be able to purchase a pair of m_moria boots. As far as the price goes, from what I have heard Mr. Altieri suggested a price of $5000 for his boots, the cut down to $2,800-3,000+ is done by retailers to ensure sales. Regardless they are still expensive, but the quality of the leather, the welts, the stitching and the overall aesthetic and personal feeling is well worth the price.

Not sure where you heard this, but this is not true.

In regards to "from what I have heard Mr. Altieri suggested a price of $5000 for his boots"

I have heard this from many retailers/buyers, I have been told that $5000 is the price that he recommends to potential stockists.

Mr. Altieri told me he doesn't set the final price. In fact, he does not want them selling at that price.

Even the retailers get misinformed, would be good if they didnt pass on info thats not 100%.

@uzairh finally debunked that rumor of Simone working for Carpe Diem, that was started online by some retailer, maybe multiple even.

I'd say take things with a grain of salt. The retailers need to get the leather codes and fabrics right at least, lore is another thing.

Simone worked for Carpe Diem. Why believe what you read from one person on the internet but not "some retailer, maybe multiple even"?

@sinnedk my pair are A_dve; the ones from Munich are AA_dve. Subtle difference but the A last has a more upturned toe box. Same as my green mid/low boots.

If you've never walked around town, sat down in a cafe, crossed your legs and smiled at the magnificence of a pair of these staring you back in the face it's hard to really understand.

I don't mean to sound smug. I think once you start spending $1k and beyond for a pair of boots it's all just relative. Whether it's "worth the money" is not an issue at that point, I would have to say.

Some people spend the same kind money on a D. Porthault sheet set but I call that cray cray.

I'd stand to wager my boots were a better investment. But it's all silly talk anyway after you've turned your nose up at a $500 pair of Frye's.

Edit: maybe I missed it but has there been anyone on here who has bought a pair and then sold them because they either didn't like them or just felt they weren't worth the money?

@Guy Burgess pointed out to me that those might not even be made by PH, just slapped with a PH tag and +$1000 and I think he's right especially after seeing those in person (without cap toe). Looks incredibly similar to William Lennon's hill boot, I think @Guy Burgess has a pair of those. Really wouldn't surprise me if PH did that :(

I can confirm that they are the same boot, the only difference I can tell between the two is that the PH ones have metal eyelets where as the ones I bought don't (I have read some stuff online where people have customised their orders with William Lennon and by all accounts it is pretty easy to do). I've seen a few pairs of the PH ones in person and after buying these went and had an even closer look at the PH ones in Eastern Market. I can even confirm that the sizing is the same - size down 1 for both.

I bought mine for approximately 240 GBP including shipping to Australia, and Harnden ones sell for 1500 Euro (probably 3000 by this season though right?) so i'd suggest going here and saving yourself a lot of money William Lennon.

Fit wise they're pretty solid and are taking a lot of time to break in but all reviews suggest they're comfortable once they do. Unfortunately it's summer here and too hot to wear them so I haven't fully broken mine in yet but I'm really looking forward to wearing them in a colder winter.

So ridiculous, Paul Harnden "shoemakers" marking up another boot - love it. Hope dude is enjoying a nice beer with the money of people too rich to care

Is that really the case? I thought boot was just similar.
