Those are great looking shoes! The pebble grain gives it such a distinct look. It appears to have contrasting textures with smoother leather in the toebox compared to the more textured vamp. Does that smooth pebble grain extend all the way down 'longwing' portion of the shoe? Or am I mistaken about the smoother leather on the toebox?

BTW a question about sizing. What size are those on the Grant last and what do you normally wear on the Barrie? I don't have any shoes on the Grant last and just wondering about fit. Thanks.

Typically the smoother leather on the toebox is a result of the stretching going on in that area. That look is consistent among most grained shoes.

Usually the Grant is TTS. For instance I am 8D Barrie and 8.5D Grant. The Grant fits me better than Barrie.

the pebble grain texture does extend throughout the shoe including the toe box, but is less conspicuous at the toebox, probably due to stretching as to Tifosi said.

I went true to size on the grant i.e. 12 D. I wear an 11.5D on the Barrie. This is my first pair of grant last shoes, but I think it is better than the barrie, which feel a touch loose. I remedy that by using Dr. Scholl's inserts which work fine for me.

Ah that makes sense about the smoother leather on the toebox. Thanks!

I have a pair on order at AoC but on the barrie and commando sole. Really looking forward to them ... hopefully arriving earlier than the July est.

I think it's a great make-up especially with commando soles! Great rainy day shoe. I think you'll love them!

I called Leffot the day these landed. I was told they did not have my size in stock. I reported my findings here on this thread. 10 minutes later a prominent member of this forum called enquiring about the same size and they told him they had one left. It left a bad taste in my mouth concerning Leffot. I'm not saying that I will never buy anything from Leffot but I haven't bought anything from them since this happened. I can accept that it was an honest mixup but seeing these makes me which I could have scored a pair.

These are nice shoes. As for Leffot, I have found various retailers better in the CS department.
