They do look comfortable. I was looking at a similar pair (or the same kind) when I was at Shoe Mart recently.

These are from the Shoe Mart. I've had them 6 months or so and probably only worn them about 3 or 4 times though.

You sure they are on the Barrie? I ordered a pair of the Rust Suede PTBs last night and here's what they look like, they are on the Leydon last (according to their catalog):

These are the rust suede ptbs. They arrive in the mail today so I'll post some pics and discuss the fit when I can. I got them from shoemart

Don't quote me on it but I think Rust = Snuff in this case. These can be bought from Alden NYC and a picture can be found on their website

ok thanks about the stretching situation. can someone tell me whats the deal with the weird bump of color on my shoe? i have seen a fair few pairs of cordovan and never seen that before. manufacturing defect? its defintely not just a discoloration, its a raised bump...
thanks!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's probably cancer. You need to take them down to your local oncologist and if they catch it quickly, it might save your boot. They might have to cut it out and put in a denim patch, or maybe suede, but your boots are on the slide to the end. Be careful when wearing them, always wear socks, because you really don't want to catch cancer.

Are these type of closet hanging shoe holders bad for Aldens in any way?

I put in one shoe per slot since.

Yes those are terrible for Aldens. If shell is left in there too long it turns to calf.

This is correct. Your boots need to be packed in a box and sent UPS red to my house in Toronto. We have skilled people who can handle this problem for you. I'll take it to them personally
