Looking good Ben! How do you find travelling through airports with the boots? I may wear a pair for our holiday trip.
amazingStill waiting for my Leffot tankers to arrive this week, but I thought I'd share something since there was a lot of hysteria in the past week about a "new color 8" being darker or something.
My color 8 AF53s just after unboxing, and again this morning after a little sun bathing and a about a year of once a week wear:
I don't buy shell for how it looks new, I'm investing in how it will look after some wear.
A stranger sitting next to me this morning at starbucks covertly snagged a pic of my alden boots.
I am Pre-TSA and the shanks definitely set the metal detectors off. I usually wear my LHS for easy on off. I will be with wife, 3-yr old, and 6 mth old, so it may not be the best trip to try out the bootsI find it to be entirely tolerable, in fact enjoyable. I try to remember to wear something with hooks to speed things up; admittedly I usually end up forgetting and wear my 4060.
I just applied for a NEXUS which includes TSA precheck which will be nice, but I think the support shanks will still require removal at security?
Safe travels!

You know you've taken it to the next level when you induce complete strangers to engage in our shoe snapshot madness. That Plaza last gets people everytime!
