@MT1982 I don't think it's entirely subjective. YOu can quantify what the differences are in quality and break it down(which I can't do), and go from there. So I do think it's more objective than you think.
Respectfully disagree. There's a reason why you can't do it... Anyone can claim to quantify, but in the end they are making an evaluation based on their own valued variables. For example, the "quantification" of a single person with no debt making $500,000 annually may be significantly different than a family-man earning $50,000 annually. Too many subjective variables for one to claim objective quantification, imho.

Did they have dark brown edge and welt, or medium-tan antique??

Dude, I am dying to get one of those...

Bals are my forte and its killing me to think that one of those is gonna slip through my paws...

It was tough finding a clean route to my car this evening so I gave in and trudged through the snow.
I'm pretty certain there is a pair of black Leffot Graintrippers in there somewhere...

Indiana jones was involved in an airplane crash in LA.
Him and his boots were perfectly fine from the crash

I'm always surprised by the shoes people complement the most. I have some lower end double monks in a whiskey like calf that pull complements with every step I take. Then I'll wear some wonderful deep beautiful shell and not hear a word... Like you said, though. It doesn't matter at all. I wear what I love. Not for the complements.

Love your 403, I'm excited to receive mine Saturday.
Much thanks my friend! I think the sharp contrast between the dark brown chrmxl and the nearly white, natural welt draws lots of attention. Ironically, that's what I like least about the 403. (not a fan at all of the natural welt) This pair has grown on me quite a bit though; acquiring them BNIB for $295 ended up being an offer I could not refuse.

Quote: Seeing @inn8chiro 's newly worked-on boots has me tempted to snag the plaza wingtip boots (with dark edge), and send B Nelson my barrie wingtip boots to have the dark edge converted to mid-tan antique edge... thus justifying owning two different color 8 wingtip boots.

Gentlemen Any thoughts on my future purchase?
1) Leffot Walter and they will order me a 10EE (not open yet), but not sure about the crepe sole.
2) AoC AF43, they can order 10EE commando sole, but would prefer some character to these...like antique edge, brass rivets.
3) Leather Sole Pitt Boot Black - not open for order yet and have been advised they can't order me 10EE, so will need order 10 1/2 B/D

I vote of the Leffot Walter, however, if you are not sure with the crepe sole. I suggest you to wait for the next round of Ryden shxxkicker boot by Epaulet. Exact same specs but with antique edge and commando sole.
