My Hunting Green LWB from JGilbert Finally arrived. I promised a side by side photo of Hunting Green, Snuff and Choco and here they are! Happy new year, Gents!!

Dude, awesome-looking LWBs! The prepster in me is screaming for me to acquire, but with about half of my entire collection being Longwings, I'm trying to diversify. Still trying to push myself to buy my first Alden oxford (balmoral)!

I've been looking at these chukkas for about 4-5 days now trying to decide if I should pull the trigger or not. I'm about to give in and order them. My main hesitation was with how wide or clunky they'll look since they're on the TruBalance last. But that last is so comfortable and I figure at worst case, they won't be any clunkier than Clarks DBs and I can live with that.
Where are these from?

Starting Whiskey Wednesday off with whiskey shell LWB. I have a pair of shoes with me to break in today at the office so these won't be on too long.

my purchases and sells so far

My entrance into Aldens - I started buying Aldens in December (ish) 2013. I am still dialing in the perfect fits for each last and material

1st purchase end of 2013 #8 Alden captoe boot model 40718H (sold recently)

2014 -
Suede Indy red brick sole - Alden - Madison NY
6 Eye CXL Chukka - Needs Supply
Navy Reverse Chamois -bought and sold as i found out I am not a 8.5d in Barrie other than in CXL
9431S Tobacco oiled nubuck oxfords -bought and sold due to sizing realization I may need a E in non CXL Barrie
#8 379X Tanker from TSM seconds - keeper

2015 wants - one of the below
1. Cigar Plain Toe boot antique welt commando - dream list most likely
2. Cigar Indy on Commando
3. #8 Plain Toe Boot Commando sole
4. Cigar 6 eye Chukka on Crepe (dream list)

right now my 2015 desire list is pretty minimal (but completely subject to change)...

1. unlined #8 Dover with antique edge trim from Leffot
2. #8 6 eyelet chukka on with commando sole from J Gilbert (been waiting 2+ years for this one to be confirmed though)

Might be the wrong place to post, but maybe not. I'm a 9.5D in Barrie 975. Would that be a 10D in Florsheim Royal Imperial cordovan shoe?

anyone have experience with the quality of the Florsheim vs. Alden?

Hard to say for sure. I have a pair of Florsheim Imperial LWBs in color 8 shell from the early 90s. Sizing is very similar to Barrie last and so I would not size up based on my own personal experience.

The Alden 975s are probably better quality than my pair (though I don't feel like the difference is huge), but Florsheim made those shoes for decades and from what I hear, the earlier models were comparable or even superior to the Aldens. If you can get a deal on the Imperials and you like them, they are a great alternative. I got mine as new old stock off Ebay for a good price.

Well, finally was able to try on the new boots this morning. Sorry for the boring parking lot shots. Was hoping to give my first pairs a better first wear but couldn't wait.

Alden x BB in what appears to be Snuff Suede.

I think i'm going to like the crepe in the end.

Alden x Leffot Chamois Daytrippers.

First time trying on the Grant last. My foot seems properly placed but from what I can tell a bit more length in front of the toes.

For the Chamois leather, any special care or treatment after some wet weather?

Very nice - where did you get the snuff suede v-tip and what last are they on?
