Hey Alden fans. I've done a search in this thread but can't seem to find an answer how to care for navy chromexcel. I'm looking at picking up a pair of Alden PTB in navy chromexcel and not sure if I can use shoe polish or what products to use on it. Thanks guys.

considering how often this is discussed you haven't done that much research...LOL

Wear them and enjoy them! occasionally wipe them down with a damp cloth and brush with a horsehair brush. When they look dry use a conditioner like VSC, LExol or any of the other multitude of products people like. Also head ver to the dedicated shoe care thread for an abundance of info

I was eyeing that one but already sold out in my size too, it looks unreal. Tough call if I want to spend $105 USD with shipping (about $120 CAN) on a belt that would only get use every 2-3 weeks vs the $37 the BR one is currently going for. Will have to just keep my eyes peeled.

The new epaulet CXL belts look nice too but I am worried about them stretching a lot since they aren't lined. I have a Rancourt brown CXL belt and it's amazing and has held up great after a year so far. When the time comes for a natty CXL belt I might go through Rancourt again.

I have the same Rancourt CXL belt. My favorite by far. I will pretty much only buy Rancourt's belts because they're lined. I'm not a fan of unlined belts. I'd still like to do a custom belt through Rancourt, maybe in navy CXL, but it costs $140

Might be able to go through Portland Dry Goods for a custom belt with no upcharge, since they don't have one for custom shoes
