Added LHS in snuff to my collection.
Is it only the wear that makes them look this different from my snuff rangers? If I remember correctly the rangers were more nappy from the beginning.

Where are the rangers from? Mine were nappier and rustier from the beginning

Both are #8 but they sure glow and apoear lighter on the sun than my others in #8.

I've not seen, handled or owned anything in #4 or #2. I'm not far enough up ladder to have access yet. 😝.

Photo is from April (got both pair shoes
together in March). I have indeed posted it before..good eye.. just happened to fit in with the discussion of plain toes and broguing 😅
I've always been drawn to color 8 when it had that red hue that you see in these pictures you posted...my color 8 pair is more brown...I'm on order for another pair, perhaps this will be from a batch of color 8 that is more reddish...

That's an interesting question. I know that suede is sanded that gives it the nappy feel/look, but suede looks different from shoe to shoe. I have a pair of snuff C&J loafers and it looks similar to your LHS. But it may also be suede quality too. I have some AE bit loafers and new out of the box, the suede looks like your Rangers - I'm assuming that AE uses lower quality suede versus my C&J and your LHS.

Is there a way I can set up a search to find an 11.5C trubalance lasted shell cordovan indy? Nowhere seems to stock this size, I would love a notification like eBay does for saved searches. Does anyone know of a program/website/AI that can do this?

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
