I
I think what he means is that if it is a retailer exclusive makeup, one that gets a retailer heel pad and doesn’t, then the generic heel pad indicates an FD. Otherwise, if it’s a standard offering like a 986 or 975 or something, then it’s going to get a plain old Alden heel pad even if it’s just fine.
@Shawnc Anecdotally, I've seen this stamping on Anatomica make ups from Paris/Japan shops

Happy Monday forum pals. It's rainy and nasty outside, but comfy and dry inside.

Has anyone had luck converting a 270 welt to 360? I’ve come to the conclusion that I really just prefer the 360 welt, esp on aesthetically heavier boots like the Indy. I’d like to change my color 8 Indy’s on neocork to 360 double leather since no one seems to ever do that specific makeup. If I could just buy them that way I would, but it seems rare to find, if ever

I would say negligibly, yes. I blew these out for a few years prior to sending them in, so he completely disassembled them. They seem "snugged up" now but certainly not a different size or anything.Nice, looks good. Big old heavy sole on those bad boys.
Can I ask if it changed the fit in any way?
Does he always put his branding on the soles? Not that it's a big deal, but wondering if he could leave it off and make it look stock from the factory? Or is that something you have to specify?I would say negligibly, yes. I blew these out for a few years prior to sending them in, so he completely disassembled them. There's always deals like this "GRAIL" (definitely not my listing) Ebay grail Indy bootI've also noticed a lot of ridiculous prices on Ebay for cxl boots, some which are $200 higher than if I bought from a 3rd party store. Good luck with that.
