Some of you may recall that these busted at the seam about a year ago. Most folks thought they were done. Alden said they couldn’t be repaired. Aram, without even blinking, said sure, he could fix it. If you look really closely, you can see where is busted but his work on the inside of the shoe was amazing and these things have much life left in them……..

Greetings all, last bought a pair of 405 nearly 15 years ago. Am currently looking around for a 986/987.

Wearing US8.5 for the 405 and tried a US8.5 for the 987. However unsure if I should be sizing up. Hoping to get some inputs if possible. Cheers!

It’s very classic. Most makers use very sleek lasts for their loafers these days which I don’t like. They’re called “loafers” not “sleekers” they should have a relaxed look, especially the classic penny loafer.

You said you tried the 8.5 D for the 987? How did it feel?

They feel fine almost... just feeling a tiny bit tight around the top of feet. Hence the thought of sizing up to a 9. Will probably visit the local store to have another go at the 8.5.
