They look great! How do you use both products?

Do you apply the neutral 1909 to condition and then Alden's C8 cream to restore color?
Thank you.
I use both products sparingly. The Alden cordovan cream only used once every few years (and only a dab at that) to touch up major scuffs/discoloration that normal brushing doesn't solve, and the Colonial one or twice a year to moisturize and help buff to a higher shine.

As most will tell you -- outside of brushing before or after each wear -- less is more in terms of caring for shell!

December is upon us, and I feel like the cat’s ass in these wacky pants from J Crew. 2161s—which were a 40th birthday present from my lovely mom and dad.

Ha, I couldn’t pull them off @Vincent George but as Will Smith once said in MIB, you make those look goooood. Nice shoes and bag certainly doesn’t hurt.
Thank you :)

I like them because they keep people guessing re: whether I'm festive or on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Im putting this ravello through a butt whooping - if these were loafers id baby them but the boots make me use em a little different. Lots of squatting down to take pictures and wearing them in the dirt.

They're boots..It's just natural to want and go tromp through the mud, rain, and snow with them. And it's fun to leave the concrete to hit dirt/gravel trails. 😁

Makes sense!

It’s so satisfying to get your boots dirty, literally. I’ve put my CXL Indy’s through hell (mud, trails, snow, rain) and they seem to only look better. A damp rag, some cream once in a while, a lot of brushing and they are ready to go again.

If it helps: I really want you to buy them.
I will at some point. Maybea will do used (as I know my size) and then get them through a resole/recraft
The price of Aldens is just too high over here in Europe to really justify a purchase of a new pair if they're not a special make up or a really really dark pair of Color8

I've been seeing F2s pop up on The Shoe Mart recently, too...

Afaik they do not ship outside the states

It can be a challenge aquiring Aldens from outside the US. I can get them through family but it's certainly an added hassle (and cost). And not that my mother or brother probably mind all that much..but re-shipping does take up their time so I try to keep it quite limited

Appreciate the assist @Markintosh and will definitely check out the eraser. I didn’t tape the sole. Made a judgement call based on the material and color. Still quite pleased and it’s always nice to learn something new.
Did you use the natural instead of color spray?

Is it R1/rubber sole on those EG? I take it both leather and rubber sole can take suede renovator without harm

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
