Kicking up the feet and relaxing. J Crew Color 8.

Hopefully Trim Woman doesn't see this pic or I'll end up in the dog house for having my feet on the table!

The one pair of shell's I would own if I could only own one pair. I never tire of seeing JCrew's finest. My wife's not a fan of feet on table either so your secrets safe with me.

It's weird but since I've gone down this expensive rabbit hole, I often dress from the feet up but every once in a while I revert to normal. BD dinner provided the chance to wear nice shoes but had a little trouble deciding........

As I stare down at my feet I suddenly thought 'dude, what are you doing, it ain't that serious'. Sadly, I went with the non-Aldens.....

IN HONOR OF James “Jim” Mitchell Pietryka

IMG_5727.JPG

James “Jim” Mitchell Pietryka of Cary, NC, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, after a challenging battle with an aggressive form of bile duct cancer. He was 44 years old.

In the past five months we have been in awe of Jim and his ability to stay grounded through this turbulent journey of a cancer diagnosis. With such weight and consequence, he also stayed dedicated to his job at Ealdwine (menswear shop in Raleigh, NC) and his treasured online communities to the best of his ability.

Jim gave his all to his work and to the sophisticated gentlemen that made up the shoe community. For Jim, the pursuit of happiness and success has always been rooted by doing the right thing and treating people with grace, love, and respect. His relentless dedication did not go unnoticed and his impact and influence was evident to most in the shoe community. Either in person or on social platforms and exclusive online communities, he was grateful for every person with whom he connected with.

Unfortunately, two short weeks before he passed, Jim was terminated from his position at Ealdwine a few days before Christmas. Jim, being the co-founder, filled most roles as many know but had no ownership in the company. In short, there is no financial connection to the store for Jim’s family. We would love to see Jim’s legacy continued with the help of this dedicated community. If you’re interested in connecting with Jim’s family in any way please reach out to his son Jake ([email protected]). If you are interested in supporting the family he has left behind please see the link to Jim’s GoFundMe. (https://gofund.me/92128c12)

Jim showed us all that while the struggle and pain of cancer is all too real, fighting for another day with his family—and paving the way toward something bigger for his career—can and should be a source of real and lasting joy.

May God bless his memory. And as we keep taking life day by day, may his passionate, giving, gracious soul continue to inspire us.

- Jim Pietryka’s loving family

Just bizarre Mike but a part of what I look forward to on Sunday morning is seeing your weekly pick of LHS’s. They never disappoint. Thanks @mdubs.

Hey guys!

Just found the advice threads after lurking in the B/S/T thread for the past year.

Question: If you could only have one Color 8 lace shoe or loafer, what would you pick?

I’m partial to the antique welted 990, 975, and 986, but I have no idea which way to go.

And here are my boots today!

The 975. They don’t call it the King wing for nothing.

Both™️. Yeah, you really need all three but the 975 is king. 990 is heir to the throne and 986 is the little prince.
