Gentlemen, does this Alden boot from Nordstrom appear to be on the Barrie last? The description reads "true to size".

Nordstrom link

Not my normal consideration but I'm shopping for a black suede or chamois boot for a friend who is typically a size 9.
That Nordstrom boot is on Barrie. If 9D Barrie will be too big and you don't need it immediately Sherman Bros has the same boot on pre-order with 8.5 still available. Another alternative option is Todd Snyder's version on crepe sole - out of stock in 8.5 & 9 but they replenish this boot regularly so they should become available again soon. And that same TS crepe boot (but on Trubalance) is coming to Harry's Shoes NYC this fall.

If you're after a black suede the only one I'm aware of is a black suede Indy coming to LaRossa/Louie - there's a few pair still available for pre-order.

Extremely helpful, thank you. My friend said he preferred black suede so that is where I'm starting, but am also sharing some options with him in other dark suede/chamois such as navy and earth.

Excuse the double-post guys as these are slightly better pic's of my Saturday entry. As with most Cigar these days, these started pretty dark but appear to be getting lighter after minimal use.........

I found this shot to be interesting and a really nice window into how beautiful the downtown Pgh view/skyline is......

24th floor is not a bad place to be. Other than a better camera, the only thing that would make this shot nicer is if was taken from my office. Alas, it is not. All but only the highest of senior leaders have long ago been kicked out of offices (understandably so given that most staff WFH) and we have shared spaces. There is hardly anyone ITO these days so I can take shoe pic's without fear of shame.

Lastly, here is me getting my 'Savvy' on with a full body shot that gives me the chance to show off a leather jacket with a shade of brown that is an almost exact match of the Splits. Grabbed the jacket from the proprietor of the shellcordovans ebay store. A really good guy to deal with who has a ton of interesting pieces (not just shoes) at great prices. He also happens to be the owner of one of the most impressive collections of Aldens (and greenest lawn) known to man.

Happy Tuesday forum pals. I have long benefited from the shoe brothers I have made on this site. @seasquirrel has sold me numerous pairs that just do not quite fit. I am happy to obtain the hard to find EEEs he orders and then has to move on. This time he outdid himself and just sent me this pair of snuff LWBs. This pair with the waterlock sole will go well with with the same pair I have in commando. Rotating them will help me stretch out the lifespan of the commandos.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
