Maiden voyage for some Saturday errands with these Sherman Brothers Tobacco Reverse Chamois Perf Cap Toe Boots. So glad I swapped laces on these with the usual Guarded Goods round waxed laces. I tried to give the flat waxed laces a go, but they just never look right for me. The color on these look so incredible!

These look spectacular.
I am there with you about the flat laces. I always swap them with round laces from AE or Guarded Goods.

I like round laces, I like GG laces, but every now and then...I just have to throw the OEM flat laces in a boot....

Mailman dropped off the round waxed laces from Laccico that I ordered a few weeks ago for the lace swap on the Tan Suede Durham boot. Couldn't wait, but made sure to take before and after pics. For those curious, these are Dark Beige 120cm (48in) laces.

The laces don't match the French Binding like the flat cotton laces, but closer match to the tan suede uppers.

Very nice, the round laces look good, although maybe could be a bit "beefier"?
They look almost dainty on that boot...

Very nice, congrats. Love the swap on the laces as well. Well done!

A little shoe maintenance for me this morning. Really liking the Bick 4 / Pure Polish combination. 3 Alden shells and an EG for good measure. A quick in-progress shot........

And a few after shots.......

And you know you've got it bad when you get excited about soles. Had Aram replace the topy'd double-leather with JR soles with integrated toe taps......

Yup, I've got it bad.....real bad. Happy Saturday Gents!

Thanks Shawn! I like Bick4 too but need to try the pure polish next..

Snowy conditions require boots. This is likely the last need for these AT soled boots for the season.

I think you’ll like it but don’t make the same mistake I did. Be sure to get the Natural Crème polish, it’s for shell.

It’s been boot weather in NYC, but i’ve been wearing AE boots because the heels have worn down on my Indy boots again. I looked around on the Alden site and couldn’t find mention of replacement heels for sale. Does anyone have the link?

Moulded Shoe in NYC likely has the heels in stock and could put them on for you. If not in stock they (or Alden Madison) could easily get them for you.

In line with my previous comments regarding finding the ideal size for my long narrow feet, I'm letting go of a beautiful pair of boots that unfortunately don't fit the way I expected:

Here's hoping someone can put them to good use, as they deserve!

Too bad about fit, those are nice. I’d x-post in the ABST thread as well.
