Throw some trees in there and take another pic. When a shoe is empty it looks different than when it has a foot or tree in it.
Still kinda bumpy looking (and feeling). Not sure if maybe some spare leather ended up down there between the vamp layers or not

I see the fold that you are alluding to. I personally wouldn't sweat it to much personally. I have tons of blemishes on many of my shoes and as long as it doesn't make it uncomfortable, then I don't really sweat it too much. That is in a pretty masked area, so it isn't going to have a noticeable effect to 99.9% of people observing them. If it pinches your foot, that is a different story, but I would be surprised since Suede is typically pretty forgiving.

Just wondering, are the pull tabs made of a different material?

Yeah, the Pull Tabs are made with the same material (leather) that the edge of the inside is lined with. I clearly would have much preferred it to be Color #4 Shell, but I am not going to worry about it too much. They used to make the tabs out of the exterior material.

Would I get laughed at in the b-s-t thread for saying WTB a pair of the brooks bros unlined shell LHS loafers? I know they're discontinued/not coming back, just curious how impossible they are to find these days, not seeing them on ebay, etc., at least in my size (8.5d).

You won’t get laughed at…There’s plenty of those floating around. It might take some time but I bet you’ll come across a pair eventually.

Guys,

Just poking my head up to see if I see my shadow and to share a story on patience. I've had and sold a couple pairs of chukka's and have recently (for the past year or so) gotten the bug to reacquire. I know they won't be a part of my regular rotation so I didn't want to pay full price. Plus, I like my 8's with some miles and creases. But quite honestly, I had stopped looking. Too many shoes/boots so I need to reduce, not increase, stock. Last week I get the normal email from Leffot about their pre-owned arrivals and I typically delete it without reading but noticed a pair of chukka's and they happened to be my size. They looked pretty bad but they were only a couple hundred so I figured I'd give it a shot. Turns out they we're having their 25% off sale so, with shipping, they we're less than $200. I figured worst case, I would send them for a recraft and still be ahead of the game. Got them and planned to spend a few days brushing, wiping, polishing, etc. Wiped them down and put a liberal coat of VSC on them. Let them sit for 30 minutes and planned on finishing up with my favorite Collinil 1909. Never got to the last step. Here's a couple before and

shots........

And now a couple of after shots......

I know it's easy to say but hard to do when you're in the moment, but one of the key's for me in this very expensive rabbit hole I have found myself in is patience. No one was worse at that than me but over time, I have gotten much better. These shoes will never be my go-to's but they will absolutely nudge themselves into my regular or semi-regular rotation.

Happy short work week guys.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
