My wife used to give me crap once my shoes started taking over additional closet space - I told her there are worse things in life to be spending money on other then shoes. (her family in Asia has had a lot of issues with gambling, affairs, mistresses, etc) she thought about it and agreed with me. She's been leaving me to my own devices now!

Lol compared to paying for mistresses sounds like a no brainier.

Anyone interested in doing a group buy for a pair of George boots? They would be on the plaza last, black shell cordovan, silver buckle, single leather sole. I’m talking to a and Alden retailer about doing this but need at least five more people (six including myself) total to get on board in order to make this happen.

Unbelievable haul, Mike!

The photos on this thread are always nice, but in recent weeks have gone to another level.
There does seem to be more rare shell being released right now, or so it seems to me. Maybe Alden trying to help its retailers and customers through a tough time? Whatever the reason, I approve.

My guess is this 2020 thread, soon to be retired, will be a reference point in the future. And here's to more great makeups in 2021!

Many, many years ago, when I was in college and terribly broke, I would kill some time at the local arcade. Pumping quarters into various video games. My new wife objected to my "wasteful spending." I told her, "You are right, if I stop video games I could afford whiskey and whores."

All of them are great, but the CJ Pembroke is stunning. Wow, just wow.

Alden's Indy boot is probably one of the few boots/shoes in which I wouldn't mind owning in different leathers.

Agree that the Indy Boot is a true classic design.

Thank you very much! I had heard that it was a little "stimulus" for the retailers as this was a hard season for them for understandable reasons...
