Is NST not a tanker? Saw the suede and shell cordovan tankers earlier in this thread, but the blue suede Leffot (NSTs) threw me off. Different naming conventions of the same boot? The design / stitching / shape on the vamp area (apron I think) are also slightly different. One is a U and the other is a "sharper" U (but not a V tip), perhaps due to the last they were made on?

The Leffot NSTs that were posted are shoes, not boots. Tankers are reserved for NST boots, and usually just ones made on Barrie, Trubalance and 379X at that. NST boots on sleeker lasts are still typically just called NSTs. Essentially, all tankers are NSTs but not all NSTs are tankers.

Stitching shape is generally dependent on the last.

Still making the daily trip to the office for me. Small office, small town, low foot traffic and most state governments are considering me "essential" so here I am for now. Might as well make it a great day with some Ealdwine goodness!

A different suede Indy, but not on TB, so is it really an "Indy" boot (I think so) View attachment 1360391
Far from an expert but the forum seems to refer to plaza's as Indy's as well. And wow, those are sweet.
I know the shell versions are called Dr. Jones per @mdubs. I'd be willing to bet suede would get a pass.
Yup, put Dainite on for the first resole, but after trying them out I think I much prefer double leather soles.
Meeeeeee too! :D

Correct; basically my ultimate dress boot from Alden.
Thanks!

Yet another thing you and I agree on. There seems to be a train of thought that you can't dress up antique. I do it all the time though maybe not as successfully as you have with this outfit. As always, very well done.

The Leffot NSTs are shoes (derbies); tankers are boots.

So, walked the dogs this evening, no one out at all and the only person we ran in to, was our neighbor, who is a first responder (police). He was out jogging, stopped and said "NICE BOOTS" (I'm wearing the Plaza last suede Indy's). All I could say was thanks, and do you need any Nitrile gloves at the police department? Even though I donated about 1000 pair to local hospital yesterday,(purchased a BIG box for car detailing last year) I found another box with 500 pair unopened in the garage. I'd be happy to donate them, however doubt I can ever get him to buy Alden boots.
