The new natty CXL NST's got a run in HK yesterday
tYJP9cY.jpg

I was a bit worried since the first wear had the top of the throat chewing on my left leg a bit, but a bit of bending, a gentle rub with a fingernail along the band at the top and all seems well - they were great! (I actually had the same problem initially with my Mahogany Indys as well)

I really love the look of these - it's entirely possible they'll push my natty CXL Indys out of the closet...

Nice boots! They look really dark for new natty CXL.

Part of that is light, but you're right anyway. That's a good thing for me, as it took a while for the color of my natty CXL Indys to get to a place that I really liked. This is more accurate:

I picked up a pair of these on eBay a few years back and love them....scotch grain is much better than alpine grain for inclement weather in my experience....highly recommended

looking for some leydon advice from the group; I'm pretty well set on my sizing, Alden DC suggested I go up in width to and E. D widths in Barrie and van fit well, has anyone else gone up a width from their typical? thanks!
It works. I haven’t tested going true width but I’d like to. For now, going up in width with leydon is convenient as my B width isn’t stocked.

Great looking boots! I’ve actially had a big problem with the top edge of several of my Alden Boots (mainly Wingtip Boots— Alpine grain is the worst at this) chewing up my lower shins. I’ve started putting on wrist bands around my ankles under my socks to pad that area that tears into my upper ankle. It’s been quite comfortable.

Heres some more color 8 Chukka pics gents. I have been wearing them for about a week straight now. They're starting to fade into a different color where the rolls are which looks really cool. I wore them in the rain twice and now they have some water spots I dont really know how to get rid of. They dont bug me too much as I know shell is resilient and theyll go away. I'm going to try to wear these 3-4 times a week going forward so I can get that patina. Thanks for looking!

For me it was the left side of the left boot on both pairs. I "trained" the Indys, but that didn't seem to work on this pair (just one wear), so if the light fingernail along the offending edge didn't work I was going to try some super-fine sandpaper. Glad it seems to have gone away...
