I suppose I don’t see much purpose in a topy. French tips solve the toe drag wear problem, if that’s the issue. I don’t know what problem a topy solves. It just makes the shoe heavier and, in my opinion, makes the sole less breathable. Leather soles are extremely durable and hard-wearing if treated well.

have to agree to disagree , i prefer hand stitching to machine stitching

Machine stitch (my preference even for shell) is flat like the 405. Hand stitching is raised like on current shell examples. (They no longer do machine stitch shell, sadly)

Topys do have some purpose. I used to walk a ton in the city and the topy-soled shoes felt just a bit more comfortable and stable on concrete/tiled floors. I don't walk around so much now, so I haven't topied any of my more recent footwear.

I'm pretty good about holding off purchases while I build up a list of potential targets and holes to fill. For over a year now I've been struggling to find just the right black boot, and realized I've been coming back to the same make-up on Lost and Found. However, what I hadn't been doing, was keeping tabs on the CAD-USD exchange rate. These bad bros are now en route.

Absolutely! On the flip side, the 9D-10D range is usually pillaged pretty quickly, so I'm a little surprised they were in stock.
