Buzz is a Toyo Enterprise brand though, right?
I believe it is, it's on the same website as their other brands (Sun Surf, Sugar Cane).

Is it a bad thing that they are Toyo Enterprise brand? (Not aware of any controversies, negative opinions, etc. around TE).

Familiar with their stuff because it's on the same website as Sun Surf & Sugar Cane. The price difference is around 300 euros less for their M-65 + liner jacket. Aside from price, how does their M-65 compare to The Real McCoy's?
They're supposed to be modernized in terms of fit. Orslow makes a good one, Iron Heart, etc. I think most will be comparable quality, fit will be key

RMC is the only brand that makes the first type without epaulets. That alone justified it for me. But the fit is really good, too. Drapes well. I preferred it over the others I tried, including Iron Heart.

hey guys, sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread. I just bought a couple of Kaptain Sunshine polos in Mr Porter, but have doubts re: fitting. Is size 40 of the brand a normal Large, or is the clothing kinda snug?

Is the quality of The Real McCoy's M-65 jackets better than the "real thing"?

It depends what do you prefer.
I had RMC M65 for 4 years and sold it because I got military issued M65 by Alpha Industries from 1972 in mint condition.
Regarding comparison between the two I would say that RMC M65's body silhouette is modernized aka slimmed as well as sleeves (they are wide enough but not baggy at all), the stitching is neater done, the cotton sateen is very similar in color and touch to the original, maybe just a touch more luxurious and overall the RMC version looks and feels more like an "urban version" compared to the real thing. After 4 years of intense wear (>200 wears total) and 4 washes it still looked almost brand new. It is fantastic jacket.
However I prefer the real M65, I prefer its silhouette and overall feel when I wear it. There is something about it that even RMC couldn't replicate.

RMC’s Mitchell camo M-65 is prob easier to justify as originals are really rare and expensive.

Standard version I’d rather get vintage or Buzz.

How is the sizing of the RMC M-65? Is that jacket oversized, undersized, or "true to size"? Asking because it's a Japanese brand and their sizing is often a bit different. For reference, a size "medium" from Sugar Cane & Sun Surf always fits me perfectly. I'll probably stick to that and play it safe.

Big advantage the RMC M-65 has is that it can be laundered. Toyo advises against washing their variant.. though i'm tempted to wash mine regardless as it is more or less just a cotton jacket
