I love RMC but I'm never sure how they sustain so many outposts in Japan. It's not a huge country and salaries are not great. The Kyoto store was always stocked to the brim but at the same time no one was ever there. The sales person told me that without tourism they were really hurting.

I love western wear from RMC but I don't see how they can have so many stores and ask for sure insane minimum orders especially for their jackets since not many people are willing to spend 3k on a leather jacket unless they had planned it all along.

What’re you looking for? Feel free to PM if this would clutter the thread.

Edit: The boys in the Visvim thread got you taken care of.

But also go to Americaya and Hinoya in Ueno for Buzz Rickson and Burgus/Big John (and a short walk to the video game and anime area. If you go on a Sunday they close the street and you can walk wherever).

Iron Heart is in the middle of a suburb 1-2 hours away and I didnt go on my last trip but pretty sure I will go in April and get my Spring purchases in.

Harajaku is the spot for Flat Head, Studio D'Artisan, and Fullcount.

RMC in Shibuya was the first place I went to after checking in at the hotel.

Jelado/UES/Warehouse in Ebisu.

You can easily start in Ebisu and walk all the way through Shibuya and Harajaku. You can do those three areas in a day pretty easily.

I only found Orslow at Beams and the selection wasn't great (mainly 105s).

Every store offered tax free shopping except Real McCoy's. So you'll save 10%. Helped out with my Fine Creek jacket I bought.
Thank you!

I have been fiending for the Real McCoys WEP Civilian Model but no place has it in a Medium since it seems to run really big, except Mr. Porter. But they've priced it at $1120 when retail is ~$800. But they have 25% off over $1000 and Amex has $100 off $500 so I got it for $800 shipped. Hoping it ships!

I don't love the fits of their tops, but apparently they are very receptive to comments and criticism and have changed their fits. I should stop by Highland Park and check it out again.

I've had a medium shirt which would have fit me great if I wasn't barrel chested. I filled it a little too well on the hips.

For reference : Front / Back

I'd have to try a large, but from what I see on the sizing chart it would work for me as a loose overshirt

I don't think it looks bad.

Relatedly, I think Rogue Territory sizing has become too wonky. For example, the jump from Large to XLarge is just too drastic. I am now right in between and it's just odd they don't offer 44-45" and instead go from 43" (L) to 46" (XL). Their shoulders are also much smaller than most other brands. Their pricing has also become a bit insane.

Per the sizing talk; one of the original reasons I was turned to Japanese brands is that they just fit better than the American counterparts like Freenote and 3sixteen and Rogue Territory and the attention to detail is usually a little more focused.

Thanks for the transfer payments, I guess 😂*

I've had excellent experience size wise with 3Sixteen. Never tried RT. Freenote I've covered. But you and I are definitely not the same size so this means nothing. I still like Japanese brands above most other because they tend to have an "it" factor that I can't describe. Most of the time when I compare products and try to talk myself into a non-high-end-Japanese alternative I fail dramatically.

*For the non Canadians out there, federal transfer payments have been the source of a ton of conflicts between his province and mine over the decades

Hi, first time posting here.

I'm looking at a Real Mccoy's 004j denim jacket with strong intent of purchasing. However, having no experience with unsanforized denim, I'm in need of some help with the sizing.

I'm 173cm and 65kg (5'8 145lbs). I usually wear a size Small. Should I go for a 38 that will fit me once it is washed?

The size charts indicate that it would be a good size, but I've called Burg&Schild in Berlin and they have a completly different sizing on the jacket. Like the guy hand measured a size 40 and it seemed like he was measuring a size Small.

Anyone here that could help me?

Thanks

Freenote & 3sixteen are two brands I've dived into a bit this past season. I already had a riders jacket which is one of my favorite outerwear pieces but I recently picked up a pair of their Belford jeans in black/grey denim. Really love the cut on it which is pretty similar to my few pairs of LVC 1947's. I haven't delved into their shirts because I usually need a 44" chest and 18" shoulders, but their mediums seem to be closer to a 42" which is small for the size.

3sixteen I picked up an olive western overshirt & the open collar shirt (50% off at Homme Essentials) as well as a pair of the fatigues which are by far my favorite one's I've tried as they are a straight fit without being too wide. I think both brands (as well as RRL for a more western vibe) slot in really well with our favorite Japanese repro brands

Have you looked on the RMC website? They have measurements for both before and after washing: https://therealmccoys.com/products/real-mccoys-lot-004j-21
Based on your info and the chart, I would get the 38.

Where are you based?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
