Okay. Question. Heading to Napoli, and for the first time, I’m spending a significant time there. What are the restaurants I should make sure to visit?

Tailors, shirtmakers, trouser makers. That’s all sorted out.

Maybe fabric stores? Other menswear stuff?

I’ll visit talarico; I’ve been to e. Marinella. Is cilento 1780 more affordable in Napoli than Milano? In Milano, it was really expensive. I also have the name of a private necktie maker.

Caccioppoli is worth checking out. I didn't price much at Cilento, I think I bought a knit tie. I'd line up some time with EG Capelli.

Have you been to Capri, Ischia or Procida?

Ischia is worth a couple days, it is a bit large IMO to treat as a day trip option from Napoli.

I don’t know - it’ll be November. Kinda a dead time for the touristy spots.

Eg capelli is a possibility. I’d rather see a bespoke Tiemaker though. I’d have to lookup his name. Some old guy at the recommendation of my friend in Italy who makes shirts.

My understanding is that Napoli is more a bespoke tailoring destination than a rtw destination.

both Marinella and Capelli are in Naples and indeed are RTW.
I think the two are amongst the best tie stores in the world, and I would not miss them. I think Naples is a great place for bespoke suits, but there are absolutely amazing RTW ties too. Not everything has to be bespoke all the time :)

FWIW, while Cappelli certainly has a RTW presence they also do bespoke. Patrizio makes all of my ties to my specifications and has for years. I seem to recall that Marinella provides similar services, but I can't speak from experience.

For coffee, Gambrinus.

For sfgoliatelle, Scaturchio.

For good italian food, Trattoria San Ferdinando, Mimi al Ferrova, or Europea Matozzi (Matozzi off of Chiaia is also fire).

For Pizza, Sorbillo, 50Kalo, Pellone, or Da Michele. In that order.

Yes! both are correct! I was specifically talking about the experience of visiting both stores, and looking (and hopefully buying) some of the excellent RTW ties and pocket squares (also Rubinacci).
And the broader point was that not everything needs to be bespoke!

Marinella is way more RTW than Capelli is, but yes, both are in Napoli. Marinella is very close to M. Cilento, if I am remembering right
The only thing interesting at e. Marinella is the 9 fold ties which are kinda cool. Maybe the vintage silks.

M. Cilento is maybe a 5-10 minute walk from E. Marinella.

For menswear stuff, eg capelli or Calabrese.

I may check out cappelli. I went to E. Marinella last time, I didn’t find anything I wanted. I looked at a 9 fold tie which was cool. But ultimately, I didn’t think it was worth it. They had a few fabrics that were nice. I think solaro was around 600€

Oh believe me, I have spent more money in bespoke than it's sane to do. I think what I'm trying to convey is that there are wonderful things in Naples to see and buy, and not all of them are bespoke?
