Could people chime in with rough cost for typical suit alterations at Wilfred's, Alexis, and Peppino's?

For example:
8 buttons (handsewn or machinesewn)
Taking a little in the waist of the coat
Hemming pants and taking an inch or so out of the waist of the pant

Last time I did this at a place called Hong Kong Tailor Jack (with to my untrained eye, pretty good results), ran me about $100 a suit.  Just curious what it runs at these various places.

Thanks

$20 for sleeve buttons (non-functional)

Picked up the "custom" suit from alexis last week. The fit on the jacket is very good. Cant tell if they cut a direct pattern for me or alterted a "set" pattern based on my measurements. 2 quick try ons. he put a holland and shrry super 120's label inside the jacket but i thought i selected a "clayton" or "mason" fabric...mmmmm

Pants seem a bit "square" and not truly custom made but maybe cut from a standard shape. They just dont seem to fit great. I may take them back to be altered but having a bit of difficultly figuring out what exactly is wrong. they only look funny from the front. Sort of like a box on a skinny guy..

Overall quality is good, but im not an expert. The hallmarks on the interiors such a wondeful little stiches, too die for silk linings etc. are not there but at this price range you are looking for fit not kiton.

Overall a very very nice fit but will not rush to do it again and may try trajudo or gilberto.....chan awaits as well...

My alterations at Peppino mentioned earlier were 8 handsewn sleeve button holes, and hemming the trousers and jacket sleeves. I believe the waist was alright, but there might have been a small alteration there too. No other coat alterations.

Total cost: $66.

Is Peppino's a "walk in" business or is it better to make an appointment. TIA

Peppino's did 8 handsewn, working buttonholes, sleeves, and hem for you for $66.? That's incredible. That alteration will run double that at even non-NYC tailors.

Anyone know anything about G+G cleaners? They were listed in New York magazine as the best place for "cheap alterations".

Yep, $66. And you can walk right in, although they close for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 (and often until 2).

Yea that really is cheap at Peppino's. Any idea how much they charge to have the jacket taken in?

i dropped a suit off at Peppino's last week. was quoted $175 for the following alterations:

pants recut
jacket waist taken in
jacket shortened
sleeves shortened
collar dropped

this seemed reasonable given what i have been charged at Wilfred's.

i just dropped in without an appointment. the older gentleman that did the fitting was very attentive.

going in tomorrow for a fitting to see how the pants came out; i'll post about the results once everything is done..

after my recent terrible experience at Peppino's i was curious as to who you might reccomend for some alterations to a suit i just purchased. i need the following done and do not want to break the bank:

sleeves shortened w/ working button holes
pants waist taken out
and shortened (w/ cuffs)

thank you so much (location is not really an issue - just somewhere in manhattan)

and just for reference at Peppino i used to be quoted around $100-$125 for these alterations
