Must be out of stock now, but the Benti Nenka sounds like it's right on my lane and my wife is all about that Brazil Legender!
Only chance now would be grabbing off the shelf. I may make a special trip today irdk

I may have a problem. My gf said im not allowed to buy any more coffee but joke's on her: Swing's was out of Mocha Java so my order was incomplete.

(Also: Zekes does local delivery tuesdays and Fridays so i had an order sent to my hotel. On Friday as Im checking out i saw a package from Zekes that had two of the same bags and said theres no way someone else ordered what I did and sure enough they hadn't. Zekes sent me the same order.... the Haitian is too roasted. Haven't had the Honduras. The yirgacheffe is good. Rich choclatey blueberry.)

Pulled one of the the Honduras bags from freezer. It is roasty up front but surprisingly sweet with lots of brown sugar notes and mouthfeel. The bag says there is a strong berry finish....maybe. it's pretty good though. Not upset about having another pound in thr freezer ill say that.

Gonna be real. Received the Brandywine co-ferment. Rested two weeks. Didn't like the first brew. Blueberry was very heavy and blueberry flavor didn't seem to be integrated with the bean. Seemed an added layer that was off putting.
Liked it better as espresso.
Even better as an affogato.
Layers of vanilla ice cream, coffee and blueberry.

I just had my morning Aeropress of Modern Times Bourbon barrel with three glugs of Irish Cream.
Perfection in a cup...

Going to rest the Brandywine longer but pull a few shots while I wait. Please share any tips of how you brew. Dose, ratio, water temp, grind, etc.. using a V60

Only pour-over with that one, for me.
V60 (small)
15:270
205°
2 min bloom @ 160°
2 pours in 2:30

I’m curious why 160 rather than the 195-205 that I see recommended pretty much everywhere.

Kalita Wave 185
1zpresso K-plus on 7.2
18g beans
305g water (just off the boil for the bloom, and I don't start the kettle again once I start pouring)
50g bloom, 30s
25g pour every 10s after that
final pour is 30g, finish at 305g

Bed should be dry at around 2:48

@johndrobison
use 160 water temp for the 2 pours after the 2 minute bloom?
No. 160 is only for the pre-wetting and then it's a 205 brew from there.

If I'm doing a quick brew I'll do a 30 sec bloom at full temp. But, honestly, I can't really discern much difference between a quick bloom and no bloom. So 90% of the time, I like to really saturate the grounds with a 2 min long pre-wetting and I keep it to 160 since it's such a long bloom. Then I turn it up from there for the draw down.

Incidentally... I did just finish their natural Columbia SBE on espresso and really loved it! I'm going in for a 2lb shipment of it today, in fact. At a 19:47 brew ratio, the sweet fruits really pop and it's super syrupy!

I like this recipe and I think it might be good for an Ethiopian natural that I have right now and am struggling just a bit with on V60. I'll try it on the Wave this morning using this, instead.

That clarifies things, thank you

The clarity of the 1zpresso ZP6 is pretty astounding. I just tasted a Malaysian Liberica from Paradise's rare coffees subscription that I ground with the ZP6 and then brewed in a Pulsar, and it was like snorting perfume. In case you think this is a good thing, it's probably not. The Ode Gen 2 presented a much more muted floral note, but the ZP6 not only separated its components but also brought them out in stark relief. Definitely not a grinder for all coffees.
