Reminds me of my grandparent's place, just a lot cleaner and more organized. My grandpa was a radio technician, and he had all kinds of weird old electronics down in the basement. Always fascinated me as a kid.

Went shopping for a bar countertop today. Think we are going to go with a leathered granite. I've never been to one of these mammoth warehouses where they have all the slabs out on display before. The variation and beauty of the different stones is absolutely amazing.

Leathered granite is great choice!!

Personally, I don't like granite, and I don't understand leathering it. If you want something with a character like that there are other options - silestone has leathered and suede finish quartz. Or there are other options like Lapitech which makes a sintered stone in a variety of textures.

On the plus side, I know how much you like things to be reassuringly expensive and unique, so you can avoid the trendy leathered granite and look down at your nose at people who get it.
