I understand that my buttonholes are machine made (or arent?).
My question is what is with this additional synthetic string that is sewn in on the right side of holes? Thanks!

Hi,
This is such beautiful work, please could you tell me what thickness thread/brand you used for this buttonhole? I'm learning to make them from a book but I've found the gutermann silk twist quite fine for the wool flannel I'm working on, so I work quite tightly with the stitching to cover all the hairs but then it looks too strained...

Also... What does your reverse look like?: )
