What email exactly are you using contact JM Weston about orders shipped to the US?

I have a pair of 180 that fit me well and I’d like to try the demi-chasse based on that size…
Two email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]

I'm BEYOND frustrated with this order - what a nightmare!!!! The shoes don't fit, I need to exchange but the shoes did not ship with a return shipping label. I've emailed them 4 times and called twice, paying for calls to France from California made on my cell phone. I've had the shoes for 6 days now, trying to return and can't seem to get the Limoges store to respond / send me a return shipping label. The shoes are very very nice. The shoe trees are the best I've ever seen - but what a pain. I'm probably going to write a letter to their CEO - the store in Limoges, which I think is their primary boutique, emailed back and forth easily, once the shoes did not fit, and I needed the return label, they have shutdown. they were there on Friday and again today, so two business days without an answer.

They are French, Friday afternoons and Monday mornings sometimes the whole Mondays are non working days for them. Be a little patient dealing with them.

That's helpful to know...thank you! I'm trying to be patient - I LOVE their 180 Loafers and I WILL have a pair that fits at some point....appreciate your help.

By the way, how would you compare Alden Penny loafers to JMW? I see your avatar - are you into blue water fishing?

Good question. Yes I agree the QC and overall finishing details are much finer on the JM Westons.

The lasts (180 vs Van) are quite different. The heel feels about the same, both medium width I’d say. The 180 hugs my feet at the strap area and at the big toe joint, but the toe box is fairly generous. Both wide and tall. Lots of wiggle room.

The Van also feels snug under the strap but I feel the toe box is a bit narrower and lower (vertically). Less wiggle room.

JM Weston soles feel harder to me than the Aldens, even though they seem to have the same thickness. Just feel more dense and take more time to break in. The 180 are noticeably lighter weight and the calf upper is softer.

Actually today I tried the Alden full strap loafers (Aberdeen last) for the first time. I’m an 8.5E on the full strap and 8.5D on the LHS. Surprisingly the Aberdeen last fits me better than the Van even though I have wideish feet. Go figure.

Nah my avatar is just a joke about the tuna roll handle (not even sure that’s a tuna?). Would love to do some fishing sometime though.

Did you take the time difference into account? Central Europe is nine hours ahead of California time. When you get up, their working day is about to finish.

JM Weston QC and quality much better than Alden. I haven’t seen any cordovan JMW offerings so I’m only comparing the boxcalf options.
In Jan 2023, Only at Isetan Tokyo, J.M. Weston provide a custom service for Tan and black cordovan 180. I wasn't too keen on cordovan myself I didn't order. The price I remember is ¥300000 or more.

I agree with you on QC - I recently bought a pair of Alden 981, paid full price, they showed up with a pretty major flaw - I was surprised. I also just bought a pair of JMW, I had to send back because of size, and I'm doing an exchange. I was amazed how nice the JMW were. The leather was perfect - just an exceptional looking loafer. Here is what the Alden flaw looked like. I called, and Alden SF took $300 off so I kept them.

I got an email from JM Weston two days ago, if you're signed up with their website, they will send you emails when they have private sales. Quite a few of the loafers are marked down from 770E to 660E.

You're right - I was being impatient, first thing Tuesday morning, I got an email from them with return/exchange documents, include a DHL shipping label. I apologized to them - next time I'll know. The loafers are on the way back, and they have a slightly larger/wider size reserved for me. I had to take another color/type, but that was fine. I really wanted blue boxcalf, and I ended up getting brown suede - so very happy about what's coming and I believe I've found my perfect size now (10F). Here's what's coming soon.

I got this pair as well, they are one of the most comfortable shoes I ever have. The blue boxcalf that I have was a little snug as well, ended up with blisters every time I wore them.

I find that the vamp creases less with suede - did you find the same with your brown suede JMW?
