Good day to All fine Gentlmen here,

may I seek your advance that is there a big difference between the HN White 4-ply cashmere sweater and the others like JoE or William Lockie?

As there is almost a double in price for the 4-ply cashmere sweater they are offering, I am wonder if the quality difference is worth such a money?

Thanks all for sharing your precious experience.

Chris
Not all 4-ply are the same. Colombo 4 ply is the thickest and longest, 4 ply from William L is the sturdiest , JoE is somehow in between. I would pay for William L the extra money. Now depends also on the style, if its shawl collar, then William L is the best both in lambswool and cashmere(i would avoid shawl collar or cable knit in cotton)

According to the H.N. White, their cashmere yarn comes from Todd & Duncan, is it a good yarn producer in terms of longevity and warmth?

Cheers mate

It depends of the yarn used..if its cheap then is not their top of the line
In terms of warmth it depends of the material+weight. The material is one of the best for warmth but now it depends for your weather..in Russia maybe you are better with 1kg or higher weight of cashmere knit. But in general i never accounted a bad T&D yarn garment, only bad artisants made garment from T&D
They have info about the weight of the garment?

Hi, thanks for the details given.
I’m currently checking their 12-ply cashmere sweater which is on sale right now for around £310. They said it is approximately 0.8 kg for the sweater, and using yarn from T&D.

I think in this regard, H N White should be offering a good deal with T&D yarn of a 12-ply cashmere sweater?

As I live in Hong Kong, I don’t think I’d have a chance to put it on here, but want it for travelling to somewhere much colder.

Have a lovely day.

For crisp, breezy mornings and cool summer evenings I slip on an Oxton and layer with a cashmere-denim jacket :

LP does a 60/40 version available on their website :)

FWIW, Brooks Brothers also sources their 3 ply cashmere sweater yarn from Todd & Duncan. My only cashmere sweater from them has been quite durable.

Sorry, I don’t know what this means?

Anyone know who makes the cashmere knitwear for Bergdorf Goodman and how the quality is?

Hi all this arrived in the post from harrods , like the colour, it is made in scotland and has the nice dry hand feel that usually would indicate good quality , the fit is good overall ( but tight around my beer belly but hopefully that will stretch a little after a few wears) any ideas from the label
Who makes it ? Not similar to my lockie / johnstons/john laing. Anyone got any ideas / anyone had experience with harrods cashmere?

I don't know, but I would exclude Lockie and Johnstons, as they have different labels and also the make on the vee neck is different.
