I'd do a black full brogue or longwing.
Derby or oxford as you prefer.

I ended up going with a semi dress boot in black pebble so I had something black to wear in rain. I do still need another pair of black shoes. Do you think longwings would work for what is approx a 13.5 EEEE? A lot of stuff looks visually too bulky with my frankensteins monster feet that look good in more reasonable sizes.

As an aside, Maftei managed to take those boots start to finish in 2 weeks including a hinged shoe tree.

Stop giving me ideas! ;-)
Black pebble leather boots sounds very nice, good choice.
I don't think I am very qualified to give advice about shoe styling for shoes that far off from my own size. I'd rather let others chime in who wear bigger sizes than I do.
But I'll say that maybe if it is anyway obvious that you don't have small slim feet then why not go for a heavier style that doesn't try to hide the obvious, put a double sole on it even.
But it would depend on overall proportions relative to the rest of your body, if you are of heavy stature.or not, right?

Gosh, haven't been to the 'Centipede' site for yonks. In 2005/6 or so, after no updates for years, I presumed he had abandoned the site and didn't look at the contents anymore. I think I had even forgotten the name 'Centipede'.

So, after all these years it's a pleasant surprise to re-discover the site (updated with many new entries).

Thanks a lot!

Lobb St. James Crup Elastic Sided boots.
This is my first pair from them. They used the wrong sole on them. The fit feels amazing. The fit and finish is about comparable to a $1,000 shoe...maybe. Any tips on taking care of these? First time having shell cordovan anything. I have a fitting later this week and then they go back to Lobb to make the trees.
