I would wait and evaluate the first pair before.

You can order and prepay now and wait for the first pair to be completed before starting the 2nd but it's usually best practice to wait for the first pair to finish before ordering a 2nd.

Leaning towards this as well. Not like I'm in a rush to expand my collection or anything.

I guess one possible downside would be if prices were to increase in the meantime. :D

An Oxford shoe in Freudenberg Dark Brown Impala Grain by Efe Laborde.

Curious to know if it's real impala leather or embossed calf.
That leather is embossed calf. A few years back AA Crack (Northampton leather merchants) offered a batch of Freudenberg's 'Impala' (old stock) in colour 'taupe'. As taupe is not the most desired colour for men's shoes, all the shoes you see will have been re-dyed.

Here is my contribution to the topic: a loafer with integrated strap (Dying and closing by Samuel Norsworthy)

Apart from the two pairs featured here, there are least two other bespoke pairs in 'Impala', made by Nicholas Templeman and Emiko Matsuda.

Do any bespoke makers offer customized insoles to basically be orthotics? In other words, would they be able to take a mold of your foot or an orthotic to basically build one into the insole?

The beauty of the bespoke shoe is they do it to the last/footbed, not an insole slapped on top of a shoe that isn't right for your foot. I've got a customs officer sign off to import my Maftei shoes as orthopedic devices because of my medical diagnosis and my podiatrists analysis of the shoes.

Since I have completely flat feet, my orthotics are the only thing that give me any arch at all. How do they build up the arch the exact correct shape? Would they be able to use my orthotic as a template? Is there a particular the smoke Shoemaker would recommend?

I can't speak to what they could do given your orthotic, but through the use of measurements, a foot imprinter, and trial, they would get to the correct shape.

That said, over the years people have posted varying degrees of success with this. For me, it worked.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
