Any thoughts on how this jacket might fare as a separate (with jeans/chinos)?

Did some research on the topic but would love to hear some thoughts!

It will look like an orphaned suit jacket, because it is one.

What @symphvaria said. Its a nice suit, but it is a suit, and the jacket will look odd if separated from the matching trousers.

If you are looking for a suit that could be separated to be worn with chinos or jeans, look for a much less formal fabric.

know they are linen, but these two are decent examples of a suit that wouldn't look terrible if split up:

A size 44 model 3 will probably work out to be perfect for you - Im 173cms and a size is just the right length for me (but this ultimately is determined by your torso length.

Im a size 48 on Susu and I’ve have more than enough room on a 46 Model 3 RJ. Although, size 46 Balloon jackets (JP model) fit me OTR amazingly

I will be the dissenting voice here and say that I do not recommend sizing down for the Model 3. The slight shoulder extension and fuller chest when worn TTS are intentional design decisions (e.g. https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...ffiliate-thread.204978/page-173#post-10369932 ).

Sometimes I see people trying to size up and down in various pieces of clothing to get everything to fit the same. My tendency is to stay with my usual size if possible, with the idea that differences in silhouette are more often intentional on the part of the maker.

Check your shoulder I suppose, I have Model 3 in both EU44 and EU46 the 46 is still too big after some tailoring.

I am with you, do not size down in Armoury tailoring (Model 3, 6 etc)

Starting low $3k-ish for MTM sport coat if I recall correctly. They should have it somewhere on their website. I don't know if MTO would be different.

Could I order a size 44 and let the back out to accomodate my back/chest without feeling restrictive when I cross my arm which is my main and sole issue with going size 44.

Does the ring jacket have enough excess fabric to let out the back 1" or so?

I can only speak to MTO from Ring Jacket.

I think they have Model 101 and maybe other makers available MTO as well....

Yes you pick a Model (Model 3, Model 6, Model 11, Model 15, etc) and select fabric, buttons and lining. I think you can adjust sleeve length, but not sure you can adjust "overall length" (if you mean jacket length adjustment). You can have trousers finished to a certain inseam length.

The Armoury has dozens (or more) of fabric books for you to choose from. Flannels, hi twists, worsteds, linens, cottons, cords, you name it.
