I got new laces in the mail, and I was gonna slot in these guys for a wear today… sadly I randomly woke up with a purple colored toe that hurts like crazy (no idea when I stubbed it).

I have actually really started to like the middle width flat laces with boots. I think these are going to be winners.

Wearing the Crocodiles to work. Probably my most comfortable pair as far as crushed toe is concerned.

First solo adventure (to work) in the 911. No stalls, no tickets, no accidents. Just gotta see if I can make it home now, haha.

(Posting on both threads.) Any of you gents have the Alden 986 LHS and the AE Randolph? Any chance of a side by side photo? Also: do you take the same size in both? Thank you.

These Gobi chukkas in tan saddle haven't had a run for quite some time. Not sure why.

I would strongly advise trying a LHS if you can - very different than the Randolph.

Personal experience - I tried a whole bunch of Randolph - couldn't wear 6.5D, couldn't wear 6.5E. 7D in shell not calf was sort of passable - length seemed right, width was OK, heelcup was kind of big but the vamp just dug into my instep.

LHS I was sloshing out of a 7D because of the volume. 6.5D had vamp issues with my instep but I'm guessing unlined anything - shell, suede, would have worked fine.

Just two very different lasts. There was definitely some degree of similarity with the AE Patriot but the AE was much smaller than the LHS - I don't think I could get my foot into a 6.5 Patriot.

Quick question: I'm attending a festive semi-formal event later this week.

Would olive PAs go with a navy suit? Or am I better off sticking with a color like charcoal or brown?
