I just purchased a La Spalla label tux (dated Jan. 2023, VBC 110 fabric) and a La Spalla label blue suit (dated Dec. 2022, Ariston fabric) off eBay for $570 total. I was really trying to see what other top suiting was there on eBay as I need suits soon. Let me know if this was too high. Fingers crossed on the fit. Are these late model La Spalla's even as good as the older stuff? Doesn't feel like a deal. Couldn't find anything for blue or tuxedo suits $350 or less on eBay in other top brands. It's harsh out there in 2024.

New LA Spalla are just custom made suits. When you do MTM or MTO with Suitsupply la Spalla fit is used as the base. So it can be anything from low end to high end and you should look at the details instead

Thanks. Hoping that "FC CNAS" on the jacket labels means fully canvassed. The Arista fabric seems to be "160's double twisted" wool, so hopefully nice. Feeling pretty foolish for not figuring this out before pulling the trigger.

Yeah, that seems like the high end. Look at the button hole too to see if it's Milaneese, if shoulders are shirred/pleated, double AMF, unlined, or at least quarter/butterfly lined and for the real horn buttons - MH3

If the label says “shop code” instead of “article”, then it’s MTM.

$570 total is not a bargain but not a bad deal either. Susu’s prices have gone up and they keep their value pretty well on the second hand market. I’m sure you’re happy with them if the fit is right.

Out of curiosity - I've noticed this one seller ("tommy_studios")
on Ebay that is located in Lithuania and selling massive amounts of SuSu garments. Many, if not most, being SuSu custom / MTM.

Would this be some seller that is picking up stock directly from SuSu? Always wondered what happened to all the returned/damaged/whatever MTM garments.

No, they buy it from a middle men supplier. Most likely a liquidator company that deals with Suitsupply and a bunch of other brands directly. There are more sellers on eBay that sell a lot of Suitsupply stock, so it makes no sense for the company deal with all of them individually

Otrium (the outlet company that ended its US a few years ago, but remained popular in Europe) stopped offering Suitsupply products altogether. The brand no longer appears on the website, and previously favorited products are marked out of stock.

This happened as the FW2024 collection has rolled out and is still having promo events in different physical stores.
I wonder if that means something bigger (susu reopening their outlet sales) or it just means that one of the many outlet partners is simply not working with them anymore.

They terminated suitsupply items a few months ago already. See my previous replies to this thread.

So are the tailored fit shirts more slim than the slim fits?

SS has gone away from slim and extra slim right?

They have Relaxed, Tailored, Slim and Extra Slim. Click on “Shirts All” and Filter by “Fit”.

I have another question.

A lot of SuSu suits on eBay say "Brescia" on the pants, which is a slim cut around the thigh. I have a more athletic build and bigger thighs, what pant fit should I be looking for?

The way they've changed things year by year is really confusing. They've done away with the naming of trousers completely on their website, but that's not helpful for buying used.

On eBay, you might have a Lazio suit with a Brescia pant, or a Lazio suit with a pant that is just identified as "Lazio". Okay, that makes sense, Lazio is slim and so is Brescia. But you can also find a Napoli suit jacket (fuller cut) with a Brescia pant (slim pant)?

The trouser style is mostly going to depend on the rest of your proportions, and the look you're going for.

If you're after an overall slimmer look, I found Vigo to be generally roomier in the thighs and seat, while maintaining a trim calf and hem. (Granted, this was during a time that I wasn't hitting the gym, though my thighs were still larger than average).

If you're down with the roomier drape style that's popular today, I'd recommend Duca or Firenze. Very comfortable through the thigh, and often the waist isn't overly large by comparison, thus eliminating extensive alterations.

AVOID Brescia, Braddon and Brentwood. I've tried sizing up, but found that in order for a comfortable fit through the upper leg, the waist size would have to be much bigger than is workable.
