I got one of the new Resort shirts. I like it a lot. This one: Blue Shirt Resort

It's a nice summery cotton, it looks and feels like a cotton/linen blend, but the website calls it Chambray and the label says 100% Cotton by Albini.

Details:

"Hand stitched" shoulders:

"Crow's foot" stitched MOP buttons:

Pleated shoulder:

They used the same soft, curved cutaway collar that I really like, which lays very well under the lapels:

Bonus fit pic of this vintage Summer Soho I snagged from eBay

Gentlemen,

I am looking to buy a versatile navy suit. What are some popular fits for someone that's 5'6 150lbs?

Is it just me, or is the Hudson fit so much better looking than the Havana fit? Personally, I think Havana jackets are a bit too short and the button stance too high. The lapels on the Hudson are also a bit wider, which I like. I think the Hudson fit is closer to the "classic" look than Havana is.

Hudson (left) vs Havana (right):

But I suppose that for jackets, Havana's length is okay.

I agree. I prefer the Hudson over the Havana based on images. I've never tried a Havana but I have a 3-piece Hudson which I love wearing.

Havana lapels are too slim for my taste, but since the Havana usually comes in great fabrics/patterns/colours, I'll probably try one someday.

Wish they'd release some more Hudsons in similar fabrics as the Havanas though.

Lapel width proportion really depends on body type/size, jacket size, and taste. I wear a 38R and Havana's lapel width just barely passes for what I would consider "not slim". As mentioned though, I would prefer the width of the Hudson but the fabric selection so far is way better on the Havanas.

Ignorant question... I'm a 40L, but on the outlet I get European sizes; 94, 98, 106, etc etc. What does a 40L translate to?

Cheers

European sizes are uk sizes +10

Then, if you're a short, you half it.

If you're a long, you double it.

Eg 38s = (38+10)/2 = 24

Hope this helps!

Hoping you guys can help me out here. I'm aware that all Suit Supply suits come in a set size for jackets/pants and the pants are tailor-able. However, I am a size 42 in jacket and 29 in pants. If I buy the size 42 jacket, I would receive a size 36 in pants and I don't think it would be doable to tailor that to a size 29. What's my best bet here?

With that chest-to-waist drop, made-to-measure is your best bet.

Unless you're just looking for 1 or 2 simple suits, then the Napoli allows you to mix and match for two models.

I thought a few (as in very few) of their "staple" suits could have the pants swapped if you called them and asked for it. Otherwise, you'd have to do their MTM or find suits from another company.

Was curious how the suits compared so I put their values into a sheet. I sorted by shoulder > chest > upper waist. Cheers.

Thanks, this is very interesting. It made me realize that the Regular and Long models don't only have different measurements for back and arms, but also trouser size!
