I gotta say, the suede trucker jacket may be one of the best things SM has made.

It’s so damned nice, well made and quality suede, and at that price it punches above its weight like crazy. So glad I picked it up. I paired it with Unmarked suede Chelsea boots in a similar colour and what a wonderful look. Would love to see more like this from SM.
If you have a chance, post a pic - sounds like a nice combo!

@SpierTeam any plans for a Type 2 suede trucker?

Neo-cut navy suit in Minnis Twill from this season. Gorgeous, heavy fabric, smooth hand. Great for conservative business dress. Loving this a lot!

Is it made to measure or tailored? I don't see the waist so nipped in the RTW. Also, very nice pleats on the shoulder. Is the roping effect caused by the pleats?
Off the rack. It’s just that the SM Neo 2 Contemporary block fits me very well. And yes, the roping is caused by the Spalla Camicia pleating.

You are very lucky, then. I'm waiting for a Suitsupply MTM sportcoat with pleated shoulders and I hope it turns out similarly and not overdone. Do you find the pleats to help with upper arm mobility/fullness?

Honestly? I don’t think it makes much of a difference. Looks great though!

I was considering getting a MTO suit from Spier in a brown linen, but, after emailing with their customer service department, they don't have what I am looking for in stock at the factory and currently do not outsource fabrics.

Are there any recommendations for something similar to Spier that may have a brown linen I could go for? I want to go MTO because I can be hard to fit for trousers (small waist compared to my hips and thighs). On the flip side, does anyone know when Spier might get summer fabrics in for their custom program?

I had Luxire make me this brown linen suit with fabric that I sourced from Spence Bryson. They have a relationship with Dugdale and if you use them, Luxire can directly source the cloth and their prices are reasonable. This is a pretty good linen bunch from Dugdale.

Suitsupply has a few brown linen options

Interesting, I wonder why they didn't mention the Dugdale thing. How would I go about that process? Email S&M again and tell them I want to do go with a Dugdale fabric?

They can source from almost any mill. Almost.

Yes, write them an email or even better, try to reach out to Rick on IG.

I've commissioned suits from Dugdale's Town & Classics bunch book through Spier & Mackay. This was last year though, so not sure if their policy has changed with regards to outsourcing.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
