Should I get straight or slanted pockets for my suit?

My suits are all for business purposes but I can dress in a fashionable way.

Would slanted pockets be the way to go? Would anyone happen to have a picture of how they look on a suit?

I usually get slightly angled side pockets for flat-front trousers and straight pockets for pleated trousers. There are no set rules so just do whatever you think will make you feel the most at ease.

No rules exist - you MUST make a choice for yourself. You are going to wear it , no one else on this Board will.

Depends on your build. Slanted pockets will add length to the leg by raising your apparent waist-line, and are probably more suited to someone of a slimmish frame. Straight pockets will sit about belt height, and for that reason may or may not look good for your build. On the wrong suit they can look a bit "blocky".

In terms of style: narrow lapels / short jacket skirt / closed quarters = straight; and a jacket with waist surpression / longer skirt / twin vents = slanted, especially if it's a country rather than urban look.

personally i lean towards slanted...

Try the slanted/hacking pockets once. Get it out of your system

I did too and never did it again

However, if it is your first bespoke suit ever...don't do it. hold off until your 3rd suit purchase

+1. Making (the right) choices depends on you. Style is a matter of personal taste. It is how you personalise it. If you think you're lacking suits with slanted pockets in your closet and you feel like it is the right choice to have such a suit made for you, then go for it. And you think suits with straight pockets are right for you, then fine. Afterall the final choice is yours to make, no matter what others say on this board.

Doing it to 'get it out of your system' doesnt sound like a great idea to me.

In my experience the more traditional my choices are, the longer time frame i enjoy them over.

I dont mind hacking pockets on my sportcoats, but I cant say I'd wear them on a suit.
