Should I be mad about this tailoring job?

I had a rush job, and was very pleased that this NYC tailor was able to accommodate. He's not my regular guy, but someone I've used before and who I thought did good work. The job was to let out the thighs on a pair of made-to-measure linen pants that were a bit too tight.

He turned it around in an hour (great!) and for just $30 (amazing!). But the work strikes me as almost aggressively sloppy. I know ... quality, speed, price: pick any two. But I didn't haggle on the price.

He improved the fit, but he kind of tore up the crotch of the pants. They had been nicely finished, with a flap of lining material covering the crotch seam. He cut this out, and left all the inside seams unfinished. The lining flap is just gone, except for about a quarter inch of it where he lopped it off.

I'm inclined to bring these to my regular tailor (Pablo at Stanton Tailor in NYC) because I know he'd never do anything this rough. I might ask him to let the thighs out even a little more, and maybe replace the lining material, and finish the seams a little better so they don't unravel.

Am I being precious here, or is this sloppy work?

Did you need the trousers let out in one hour? If so I am not sure they would have had enough time to take apart the trousers enough to remove and replace the lining. The seams under the lining were probably unfinished when the trousers were originally made; finishing them if the lining were not replaced would also have added time. So I think it depends on whether you told the tailor you needed the trousers turned around that quickly. If not, the tailor should probably have explained your options.
