Creed's Bois du Portugal today. A wonderful classic that exemplifies the image of an elegant gentleman. This is one of the fragrances that got me to appreciate more woody scents. It's a shame it doesn't get much love.

When I first got into fragrances a little over a decade ago, Bois du Portugal was one of those scents that everyone in the online fragrance world raved about. I still remember the first time I smelled it--it was at a Neiman Marcus in Austin, Texas and I was so excited to finally wear such a classic. It's not really my cup of tea, but it's very good for what it is.

My SOTD is Rhubarbe Ecarlate, which is a very bright, sour rhubarb with a healthy dose of musk.

Hmm, interesting. I got into fragrances about 7 years ago or so, but I remember people raving about Aventus, Millesime Imperial, Virgin Island Water, etc at the time. I also really like Tabarome, which also doesn't get any attention. Anyway, these two are the best ones I've smelled from Creed.

Wore a sample of Cuoio Fiorentino by Farmacia Santissima Annunziata. Had never heard of the brand before but this was a freebie with a purchase of other samples. Fresh lemon, leather and patch. I’m becoming romantic for old Italian brands like this one, Santa Maria Novella and even though I don’t think it’s thats old I Profumi Di Firenze.

Also if perfume is light sensitive why not just make the damn bottle solid?

Pulled Knize Ten from the back of the shelf today for the first time in over a year. As I say every time: goddamn this is good.

Cuoio Fiorentino sounds very good from the notes. I also like the light hand that Italian houses use when making their fragrances.

I've been buying decants lately, and the latest one I received was Amouage Epic Man. I'm wearing it today. Quite a good scent, and very wearable. I really like the leather, saffron, and pepper combo. I don't really get much oud and incense. As good as it is, however, it just doesn't have the potency that I'm looking for. I've been deciding between this and Journey Man, and I'd rather get the latter because it's a bit more robust. That one is absolutely fantastic.

so zegna is releasing an EDP version of their essenze line. EDP italian bergamot... this is going to be expensive and interesting.

Nothing like having the nastiest allergies ever and not being able to smell anything.

I’d recommend:
Hyde, by Hiram Green
Tyrannosaurus Rex, by Zoologist
Anubis, by Papillon
Gucci Guilty Absolute

Thanks y'all! Anubis is one of my recent favs. Hyde sounds good and I hadn't heard of it before. Amouage stuff is always at least interesting, even when they don't feel like me
