brad: Cheers, I've been wanting both for a while now. Couldn't argue when they both hit 50% off.

Finally found that UC @ghostface

:)

Those cherevichkiotvichki are sick, ghostface. Green is more versatile than it gets credit for. The laces are ace too.

Where'd you pick em up?

thanks. i just came across them randomly on ebay. i'm honestly not sure how versatile they'll be-- i'm thinking of wearing them as the only real color in mostly-black fits-- but i'm excited to try.

Uniqlo

Trying out a new MTM shirtmaker (ProperCloth).
So far I screwed up one of the measurements and they screwed up another.
Shirt is being recut for free at least.

Non-fashion related clothing purchase: North Face jacket for snowboarding.

For the wife:

Gudrun & Gudrun "traditional sweater" (awesome knitwear from the Faroe Islands)

SVB- I can't say I'm not disappointed to hear that you snowboard. I've had visions of you as something more like this:
1000

(ironically, that white Renault 5 in the background was my first car, but in black)

I'd be interested in hearing how those work out for you. I've found most short-sleeve henleys to be either too short or too boxy in the body.

Will do. I was advised to order a size up on the SS versions, so we'll see if that was good advice... The other long sleeved coalminers that I picked up are great(long and slim) although the natural slub terry version is an uncomfortable, boxy fit.

Ha! Man, that would be awesome. The 70s Bond Lotus Esprit was always my favorite (dare I say, "dream?") car growing up. And that Renault 5 must have been fun as all hell for you. But alas, I grew up in California, and my first car was an 83 Camaro Berlinetta. I was stuck in the "it needs a V8 and RWD" mentality. The prowess of european hot hatches had yet to hit my radar. And, again due to being in California, all my friends were jumping on the snowboarding bandwagon, so I did too. I will note though that Roger Moore's Bond was the first to debut snowboarding (sort of) in 1985's "A View to a Kill." So there may still be a common thread with the image above (just).

Picked up this vintage Ratti 714 at the flea market on the weekend. Couple of minor scratches on one lens, but thankfully not noticeable when wearing them.

Yeah, I have a pair of their sneakers in 43, fit perfectly. Haven't worn them out yet though because the topline feels like a knife against the back of my ankle, god knows the amount of skin it'll remove if/when I actually do wear them.

You can go down 1/2 size from your sneaker size to boots, although based on what you just said it sounds like your sneakers might be too small? They might be a little tough for the first day, but the sneakers break in really nicely.. Maybe just wear some thicker socks than usual for the first wear or two?

They're relaxed snug, not small at all. You can even see by the profile pic how the back ankle digs in, the leather as you know is thick and unforgiving, at least initially. I doubt thick wool socks will help but will try before speculating further.

Cultizm's also out of stock on 42.5 for the boots.
