This is coming from a guy on the forum who has admittedly been on a "premium" brand kick for the last couple of months. But I make sure everything has a place.

Isn't that what we are all here for in the first place?

If we all did WAYWTs and somebody posted a terrible, mismatched, poorly fitted outfit that was all MMM and/or BoO, how is that even close to being a better example of style than someone who makes well thought out choices with what the pieces they choose to work with, even if those pieces are Gap or Banana or J Crew or gasp Target?

I always though style was less about the what and more about the how in terms of things one wears.

i am totally buying the ll bean katahdins, if i don't get them for christmas first

i am too skinny for workwear, it makes me look like dopey the dwarf.

i am too fat for 'hipster' gear.

charlie gibson is a total bouchedag.

I like your take on workwear/vintage, I'll bet many people would say the same.

robbie as hipster does not compute

As it should be. Unfortunately, I think being part of this vacuumed community often leads to narrow views on what's good and what isn't. I won't bust someone's chops for having a closet full of premium brands. How someone chooses to assemble their wardrobe is their own business. But I'll still give more props to the guy who assembles a killer outfit with mall brand stuff than the person who poorly puts together a fit of costly, hyped pieces (and that's a general statement, so don't anyone go off on some tangent that forces me to dig up my Cam'ron .gif).

I've always admired kunk for his bluntness. This is one of those moments where I wish he'd expand on his statement.

Kunk can be as blunt as he likes, you're not like to front on him are you?

But agreed, I'd like to hear his take on what awful premium brands are being bought. The lucky bastard has the fashion world minutes from his door step, most of us have only the internet.

To be honest, kunk, I've often thought the same thing about your overpriced gymwear. It's nice to see you mixing things up a little lately.

Edit: well, looks like you responded before I could even post up. I take back the "overpriced" part.

i am just lashing out lately about the meaningless nature of fashion. i buy very selectively and carefully, as i have a family to support. i got 2 rick owens leathers and sneakers for the price of one leather on sale at retail. i guess i am just patient and willing to hunt
