A true cesspool of humanity.did anyone frequent TheB9 (Record label from Boston) messageboard? Would've been most live from like 2008-2012
I see banner ads mid-thread every 4 posts now. Increasing overall ad impressions per visitor isn’t the best monetization strategy for a website with a shrinking active user base. And if less people had adblockers, they’d probably need to run less ads to cover the same impressions/income ?

Speaking for us and our little NoMan community, we've seen a real transfer of content and activity from our thread to our slack. A lot more fit pics, a lot more product discussion and feels more "live". Everything is easier, it's more mobile-friendly and it's more suited for short interactions. It also feels less public than SF where 90% of the users never post a word but intensely lurk (and then go mock on reddit or whatever lol).
Really? I never would have guessed.Me, too! A girl in one of my classes gave me the greatest compliment today. She said, "Mark, you look like a Wes Anderson character today. I love it."
On a related random note, I really want a casentino overshirt.
It might be easier for you to join and see? Slack is specifically designed to handle multiple “workspaces” and it feels like smooth UX to me so I’m not sure why you think it would be a nightmare. On Slack? So, does that mean Slack users are joining a bunch of external Slack channels for vendors like you? Sounds like a UX nightmare to be honest.
Do you mind expanding on this a bit more? I'm curious how Discord and Slack are being used for marketing and consumer engagement. I've only used them for their original purposes - gaming and collaboration at work respectively.
