Is it wrong to like the C&J Coniston more than the EG Galway?

The Coniston is the only one I own (and can afford) so I definitely like it more :cool2:

I already own the tan and rough-out suede Conistons so just a question do I want another pair of boots or shoes. My Pembrokes are a little darker IRL. BTW, wearing my tan Coniston today (a little darker IRL too).

In that case possibly the shoes are a better bet.

Have you considered the wax calf Pembroke? I like the idea of those.

Nice Coniston’s! I got mine really muddy and wet on Monday and they handled it great. Dainite was a bit slippery at times but not too bad. Should have taken a picture before I cleaned them up really.

I have to say the Galway, especially in Rosewood cc for me is probably the boot I covet most. It is out of my budget at the moment.

I am satisfied with my Coniston though, I think it’s a great boot and really versatile.

Not at all, style wise I don’t think there’s much in it. I expect the Galway should be better made but I wouldn’t expect by a huge margin. Tends to be diminishing returns as you go up the price scale.

If I had the budget I'd get a pair of Galways as I like some of the make ups, especially those with a ridgeway sole. What gets confusing for me is all the different lasts for the Galway. I know they are different but it's as if C&J grouped the Coniston, Northcote, Harlech and Snowdon all under the Coniston name. I guess I just need to try on the Galway when I get a chance.

Interesting reading Iagsun deciding on his next shoe purchase.

I to am deciding between the Islays and Conistons or maybe the finsbury in chestnut or westbourne in suede. Actually, I don't have any loafers, perhaps the sydney in suede. . .

Nope. They’re totally different boots in most of the Galway makeups (country calf on the 202 likely the exception). I dig them both, but for totally different purposes.

I am thinking about C&J shoes in 348 last.
What is the difference in width between 348 E last and Forest or Oscar last (Carmina) and Barrie in D width (Alden)?
