Hello, the shoes are still in sale : https://www.newandlingwood.com/mens...n-leather-double-monk-shoes-with-dainite-sole. I suggest asking directly to the vendor, I had an afimative answer about the manufacturer but informed that they use the 612099 last, for my eye there is not much difference, maybe are a tad slimmer but I have no way compare them directly. I hope these pictures help. View attachment 1112725 View attachment 1112726

Purchased this pair from N&L as well but had to return it as the size wasnt quite right for me. However unlike at C&J, customer service is absolutely shoddy. I wanted some advice over the phone regarding the last when I first placed the order and then queried about their returns process - on both instances very rude and condescending. Zero customer service. They would also not elaborate on the last and leather used and who made the shoes for them.

Edit: just tried returning these to N&L via their freepost option - unfortunately this is complete untrackable with no insurance, although they insist I should send it by signed for trackable delivery as its an expensive item. Royal Mail charge for this will be a whopping £26.99 to send it tracked which N&L wont cover - its either that or I send it by their freepost with no insurance. Not impressed by them at all, I'll just stick to original C&Js.

I am so envious. They are phenomenal looking.

Thanks, just lucky to have em.

These are absolutely stunning. What color is this ? Is it color 4 ? Please excuse my ignorance. At this point I'm an enthusiastic novice.

Nope color 8. It’s just that it’s C&J, most are accustomed to the Alden #8. Alden slathers their #8 in some kind of lacquer. I’m not crazy about Alden’s #8, but they have some desirable styles. I’ve also got a pair of #8 boots from Enzo Bonafe that have this spectacular color.

Hi guys,

I'd like to ask you, was polishing my coniston's yesterday, started with the tip of the shoe for now because the cj brown wax is darker and was thinking to make the tip a bit darker than the rest - first time polishing these boots and first time polishing shoes in my life in my life... aaand I messed it up :)....I was trying to shoe shine them as per CJ polishing video using dark brown wax and water, did it for maybe 10-15min each shoe and noticed this morning light spots - lighter than the original color there. Could you please give me an advice how to fix it and what to avoid next time?

It looks like the cloth, wax and water mixture had pulled some of the die off.

You really need to put a few more layers of wax on before you start with the water.

Don’t panic. Just aply the dark brown wax without water and you’ll put some of the colour back. What I would do is put the wax on the radiator, to melt it a little. Then apply it with my finger. Let each layer sit for a few minutes, buff and repeat. I also use thick ladies stockings or tights to buff.
